    The Walking Dead (Season 8)

After a disappointing Season Seven, can this show get back on track with the "All Out War" storyline?

Really liked the premiere except for one WTF moment

That's the kind of stuff that has driven me nuts about this series over the years. Makes no sense.

Agreed. That was a head scratcher. Anytime anyone talks in any show or movie, the other party is supposed to just sit there and listen, unless it's the first Kingsman movie.

Heres a question. When Carl was walking, looking for gas, and heard the dude talking, and he laid down to look under the car, was that whole scene a replay of the very first episode when Rick was looking for gas, and eventually saw the little girl (who was a zombie)? Seemed like a little flashback type of thing.

Also, in the first episode of season 1, the little girl stops to pick up her bear, even though she's a zombie, and starts to fast walk/run towards Rick. Why then do all other zombies in the show, walk/lurch?

I was willing to let go of Gabriel being stupid by trying to save that Gregory guy. Getting into that trailer, hearing Negan, and deciding not to just shoot him then and there? Give me a ****ing break.

If you want plausible situations wherein the bad guy doesn't just die, this sure as hell isn't the way to do it. Might as well have Negan wear armor that has "We're only 1 episode into the new season!" plastered all over it.

We're talking about a show with zombies, a guy with a pet tiger (who knows which people to attack and not attack) and a group of trash people who developed some sort of weird speech pattern for reasons, etc.?

They used to be smarter as well in S1 climb fences, turn door knobs to get in a house, use rocks to break glass windows and the little girl you pointed out. Not sure why the change.

So the little girl in the first ever episode with the Teddy Bear was the same actress in the S8 Premier at the gas station. They brought her back after 8 years.

A quick shot of Gabriel either running out of ammo or accidentally dropping the gun would have made the scene much better.

Also, I guess members of Rick's crew are just going to take turns getting captured by Negan, huh? They've had Darryl, Eugene, Carl, Sasha (RIP) and now Gabriel... I feel like I'm forgetting someone but maybe not... I wonder who's next?

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 8)

I thought Season 7 was dreadful. Unlike Fear, I actually care about some of the characters in this series. Need to see what happens in this war so I'm doing the DVR thing and watching when I have the time.

Season 8 Premier only captured a 5.0 rating which doesn't surprise me.

"The Walking Dead" Season 8 premiere, also the show's 100th episode, posted the series' lowest premiere ratings since its third season.

Including Season 8, all of the season premieres now rank, from first to last according to demo rating, as follows:

                        Season 5 (8.7, 17.29 million)
                        Season 7 (8.4, 17.03 million)
                        Season 4 (8.2, 16.11 million)
                        Season 6 (7.4, 14.63 million)
                        Season 3 (5.8, 10.86 million)
                        Season 8 (5.0, 11.4 million)
                        Season 2 (3.8, 7.26 million)
                        Season 1 (2.7, 5.35 million)

I thought it was a good strong opener. The only part that really made me cringe was Gabriel just not shooting Negan in the face.

Other than that though, I'm ready to see what else this season will bring.
