Two huge signings!!! Hopefully you can land McGill as CB is a need for this roster. Adding Stewart-Sims along with him would just be the icing on the cake!

Thanks man, I am pretty hyped up about the way this class is taking shape. Grant Brady will really be a nice compliment to the 6-6 speedy sophomore Adam Lawson, giving us a lot of speed and youth on the outside.

I have the final two recruiting weeks to simulate later this afternoon when I get home, and I am super nervous. Both Stewart-Sims and McGill are taking this thing down to the wire.

I can't express enough just how big of a get McGill would be for us. He'd instantly be our best player at our most talent-starved position. Stewart-Sims also would be huge for us at the very underrated guard position. We do a lot of power runs and guard pulling, so we could really use a guy like him with the amount of running we plan to do next year.

Appreciate it man; I will literally know the fates of McGill and Stewart-Sims here in the next hour or so.

I'm really looking forward to Brady's career as well. One of the cool parts about this slow pace I play at is that these virtual characters are literally in my life for almost two years in real time. For instance, I got a commitment from WR Jason Mason all the way back in December of 2015, and he's just now graduating here in October of 2017. So it is pretty neat that these guys I am acquiring today will be around for a good while, as it almost has a real life feel to it.

I envision Brady as a Julien Edelman/Wes Welker-like slot machine for us. He may turn into a fan favorite pretty quickly if he works out the way I envision.

Man, two years these guys are in your life? That is absolutely nuts. I’ll still stand by that Jason Mason is one of the bigger busts of your dynasty lol.

Yeah man, sometimes I look back on some of the things that have transpired in this dynasty and am amazed at just how quickly time has flown by with this project. Would you believe that next month will make a full calendar year since Deuce Monroe transferred? Would you believe it has been over 15 months since we last saw Ryan Jean suit up? Or how about this month marking two full years since our 62-27 beatdown at the hands of Arkansas? Just incredible.

As for Jason Mason, I hesitate to call him a bust. He didn't live up to expectations, but I think it was more so due to circumstance. Year 1, he played across the G.O.A.T. Ryan Jean, then in year 2, Brandon McIntyre surpassed him on the depth chart as the go-to guy. Mason was good and made a lot of clutch plays for us, he just wasn't a high volume guy because he always had someone better lining up across from him.

Sucks that you weren’t able to land McGill but a very solid class otherwise. Hopefully that translates into a jump back into the elite within the next two years, even with the secondary’s troubles. Good luck!

Not landing McGill definitely hurts but that's a stellar recruiting class to get this program back on track. Clearly the focus early and often on the recruiting trail will be on landing an elite CB or two. To see 4 or 5 instant starters or, at the very least, contributors would be huge for this team going forward.

Question: how do you get your tables to look so clean as an image? Whenever I make a table in Excel or Sheets and take a screenshot of it and bring it over to Photoshop, it looks super grainy and blurry.

Great recaps, love how you turn the recruiting saga into a great storyline. It's tough to miss out on a big target like McGill in arguably your biggest position of need, but with the sheer amount of talent you restocked with, I think you could just get by with outscoring everyone you face even if your corners aren't up to snuff. Heck, if your front 7 is good enough it won't even matter how your corners are because QBs won't have the time to get rid of the football!

Thanks Bookwork. I really love what we were able to do, and this is the type of class that creates a solid foundation for us moving forward.

Despite not acquiring McGill, we found some very nice pieces. The player I am most excited about is WR Grant Brady, who should start right away both on offense and as our return guy. DE Ricky Evans looks like he could blossom into a stud for us as well.

I'll tell you what man, this cornerback situation isn't anything new; we've had major problems recruiting that position for about 4 seasons now, and it shows on our roster. I am completely selling out every year trying to land some playmakers back there, but they just no longer want to come to Tulane. We had a nice run from about 2015 to 2019, getting several top-flight cornerbacks to want to come to New Orleans, but lately, we've been getting beat out for them by teams like Alabama (Quinton Bentley, Lewis Jones, and now McGill), Southern Miss (Antonio Knox), and Arkansas (Aaron Robinson). We've also missed out on countless others that I didn't even bother to add to the storyline. The dynasty reporter in me loves the natural adversity its delivered though.

Because we have struggled adding corners, we have had to settle for slower guys, but I try to find guys with high man coverage grades, since that is what we play primarily.

As far as my excel sheets - I create the Excel Sheet, print screen it, paste it into Microsoft Paint, crop it, and then upload it to Photobucket at the highest resolution setting. Comes out crystal clear every time, no editing necessary.

Ha...unfortunately, back in 2022 (pre-Notre Dame super recruiting class days), we signed a four-year contract to face the Irish, and we're only two games in! I'm glad you pointed this out, because for some reason, I thought it was only a 3 year deal and we'd be done with them after this year. Nope, looks like we'll be playing them when they're basically at peak-juggernaut level both this year and in 2026. By creating that scheduling contract article, I basically locked myself in unfortunately.

Thanks man. I've said this many times before, but the off-season is one of my favorite parts of football, not just on dynasty reports, but also in real life. I love the news cycle, coach movement, player acquisition, strategy adjustments, etc. that it brings, and I enjoy making that a part of the story. It also plants a few story seeds for later. Who knows, maybe we make a big play on McGill or he makes a big play against us 3 or 4 seasons from now, and we'll have this off-season time period to look back on.

I think we have enough speed on offense to score with anybody. I also think you're right about our front-7 being good enough. We'll have to figure out what's better - should we dial it back with the large amount of blitzing we did last year because of the poor secondary, or do we turn it up even more to put more pressure on the QB and give him less time to throw? We'll have to find the right balance. Maybe more zone blitzes is the answer instead of our traditional man coverage blitzes.

Appreciate it man...I can't take full credit for playing 7 calendar years though. This thing started back in July of 2010 and lasted until about May of 2011 (9 seasons). I then stepped away from it until July of 2015. So it's been 7 calendar years, but only 3 years of actually playing.

That said, this thing has indeed lasted much longer than I ever expected it would, and I think it has a lot to do with a couple of main factors - this new pace I play at (one game a week, if that, along with taking about a month or so break in the off-season), really helps keep me fresh and energized, where as before, when I knocked out 9 seasons in less than a calendar year, I burned myself out. I also think the pace prevents me from becoming too "in the zone" with my stick skills, leaving me vulnerable to bad games if I am having an off day with the controller.

The other major factor has been the fact that we aren't winning at the rate I expected. When I fired this thing back up two years ago, I really thought I'd win a couple of national titles within the first 4 years, then sail off into the sunset. With the unexpected early departure of Jimmy Williams, followed by a few upsets, and a few misfires on the recruiting trail, we now find ourselves in a spot where we're rebuilding again, and I LOVE IT!

Want to know the craziest part? It took me, starting with Tulane's very poor default roster, 7 seasons to win our first national title. Now, here in Part II, starting off literally with a defending national championship roster, we are now heading into year 7 of this sequel project, and still have not won another national title and really aren't even favored to this year either. That's incredible to me.

I'm not going away any time soon; I see no reason why this dynasty can't continue for several more seasons. I'm as motivated as ever!

Curious to see who has the better career...Pruitt or McGill....
Hopefully someone in your defensive backfield can step up this season.
                                Great stuff once again sir.
