Is it just me or does this year's game look worse visually than last year?

I feel like graphically the game looks worse this year. The players faces don't look as smooth as 2K17 and it bothers me. I really am not liking that part of the game. 2K17 was so smooth visually and I feel like it took a huge hit this year.

Well, with this years game there are different graphical versions on the game. Depending on what system you play it on is how the quality of graphics and texture will look. I'm expecting 2K18 to look like the must stunning 2K ever on Xbox One X. If it doesn't then we have a problem.

Graphically it's a lot better then 2k17 but lighting wise it's horrible this year, light doesn't seem to reflect off of anything in this game and each stadium is dark. And I play on the PS4 Pro and have a good HDR 4ktv it helps a little but you shouldn't have to use HDR and 4k just to get decent lighting.

Wish they could do something about it with a patch but It seems to be the direction 2k wants to go.

I'm currently on the Xbox One S, and to be completely honest it looks visually stunning on my display. Try fine tunning your HDR color on your display. These screenshot where all taken with a HDR camera. My 4KUHD HDR TV is the 2017 Vizio M-Series if anyone was wondering.

Visual art direction is subjective. Depends on the look you prefer. If you prefer the glossy look, you would think 2k17 look better.

For me, this year is the most realistic it has looked, EVER. Muscle ton, player models and faces. It also helps to be playing it in native 4k. when you play in 4k, you realize the perfection of 2k18 visually. players aren't glossy as hell like they were in 2k17, which IMO was unrealistic

I agree to the point where i hate playing, because everything is dark and dull. Even thought of upgrading to 4k to see if it makes a difference.

Strongly disagree with this.

Going from a regular PS4 with an HD TV (for 2k17) to a PS4 Pro with a 4K TV (for 2k18) has been a noticeable upgrade.

It's much better IMO and it isn't even remotely close lol
