    - Won't be convincing players to stay.
    - Will only redshirt freshman that are second or worst on depth chart.
    - No cheesy 'money plays' (although I'm not great, so this won't be an issue).
    - 80% of targeted recruits each season will be through 'pipeline' states.
    - More to come as needed.

Really got the itch to play some college football and found this bad boy laying around. Figured I'd dust off the xbox 360 and give it a spin. Penn State is ranked #60 in the preseason polls, yet they are a storied college football program in a power conference, this presents a perfect opportunity to get them back to the top.

Hope you guys enjoy. Btw, feel free to post!

                College Football Preview
USC Clinches Top Spot, Look to Repeat

Expectations couldn’t be higher for the USC Trojans... and with good reason. The Trojans are coming off an undefeated, National Championship season and their star Heisman winning quarterback Matt Leinart passed up millions in the NFL for a chance to repeat. If you're looking for a strong team to watch this season, you can’t go wrong with the Trojans: USC fields the highest ranked quarterback in Leinart and running back, Reggie Bush -- both are Heisman candidates and, of course, impact players.

                  Team Preview
2005 Preview: Will Defense Carry Offense?
Following a 4-7 finish, the Nittany Lions will be dependent on a defensively-stout unit to carry a sub-par offense.

It's amazing that Penn State could only win four games last season with a defense that never allowed more than 21 points in a game. Had the offense done anything, last season would have been markedly different.

                  A Sign of the Times

The Nittany Lions are coming off of back-to-back losing seasons, finishing 3–9 in 2003 and 4–7 in 2004, capping a stretch from late 1999 where Minnesota upset the #2 Nittany Lions with a late field goal until the goal line stand at Indiana that featured four of five seasons being losing seasons and the lone winning season in 2002 featuring many frustrating close losses. This stretch was called "The Dark Years", sometimes including 2002 as well. The team finished the 2004 season with wins over Indiana and Michigan State, which hopefully helped springboard some momentum into this season.

                  On to the Next One

The team returns 18 starters from last year's squad. Eight starters returning on offense, led by starting quarterback Michael Robinson who has also played at wide receiver, tailback, and punt returner during his first three years at Penn State.

Nine defensive starters return from a unit that did not allow more than 21 points in a game in 2004. Also returning is safety Chris Harrell who suffered a neck injury in 2003 and missed the 2004 season.

Michael Robinson, cornerback Alan Zemaitis, and linebacker Paul Posluszny were elected tri-captains of the football team this season and are impact players. Posluszny is the first junior captain since 1968.

Penn State will be starting the season unranked in the college football preseason polls.

                      College Football Preview
                      Schedule Outlook: Penn State

Looking at the schedule, the Nittany Lions look to have a cupcake, non-conference September, followed by a bumpy October full of pre-ranked top-25 conference foes. November slows down slightly, but Wisconsin and Michigan State aren't going to be pushovers by any means.

Penn State has a chance to improve upon the debauchery of last season by securing momentum early on in the year. In order for that to happen, though, they have to rattle off at least four wins in their first five games.

Having Hali and Posluszny should give your defense a fighting chance in every game this season. Getting that offense going consistently will be a bit more difficult. What do Robinson’s attributes look like?

Yeah man, this is pre-Nick Saban. They weren't a historic dynasty just yet!

This defense is full of studs. I'm looking forward to some of the more challenging games to really see where we stand, though. I'm really worried about hanging 21-35 points consistently. I mean we struggled against Arkansas... As for Robinson, I know he's an 86 overall, I'll have to check the rest and get back to you on that.
