    Animation Finishes

Im not sure this will get changed at this point, but why do guys who get koed lean forward when the momentum for the strike says they should go backwards?

If i land a round house kick and its sends the guy to lala land, id say 99% of the time his body will follow the momentum of my strike and he will fall backwards, very rarely do guys fall forward after being kicked in the face unless they were already leaning that way.

What is the reasoning for going back to predetermined ko animations?

I know the rag doll physics were insane but all they needed was a little tuning, not a complete replacement.

Not to forget the ragdoll physics were a "big" feature of UFC 2 and im surprised you replaced them this way

I just really don't understand it. Why go back to something from UFC 1??

        I am flabbergasted.

Why no GC raise alarm bells when this happened?

Was just talking with Geoff/GamplayDev on Twitter about this. Only the Active Knockdowns are canned animations. The rest are in physics, but it's been (and is still being) heavily re-tuned:

Yep I'm not against having canned KO animations but the issue for me is that the weight and direction of the strike carries little impact on what the animation is.

I mean? When do you see people just fall slowly to one knee? It's a real shame because the overhauled striking looks amazing a lot of the time.

That is the exact video that made me create this thread.

                What the heck was that?

I really don't liked the ragdoll physics. because the first one is unrealistic and looks arcade. Nobody fall down quickly like it. and more biggest one is There is NO different between Knock down and Knock out. We couldn't distinguish it. Its really terrible thing. I have watched the beta video from youtube. I believe, Knock down animations looks way better than ea ufc2. but i agreed about Knock outs one. but i said before, the ragdolls still left in the game.

Apparently GPD said only Active Knockdowns are animated, yet that looks like KO animation.

It's a little slow but we've seen that kind of imploding knockout from spinning backfists before in real life.

Please don't touch Knock down animation. KD on seated against the cage animation looks great. also, I really happy that the recover mechanic is gone. the tko scenario looking good now. Knock-down and Knock-out should be seperate from each other.

Yeah if you've ever seen Emmanuel Newton vs Joey Beltran it's what i assume this is based on. I've got no issue with the concept it's just it ends up looking terrible. It kills the illusion of the fighter being knocked out because their momentum doesn't look like it's being conserved. One minute his head's going backwards then its going forwards again all as he hits the canvas with no force at all.

In reality it's a trivial concern for me because I'm in it for the gameplay. I hope this can be made better like Geoff said he's doing but at the minute its just a bit of a bummer because it takes away from what should be a really satisfying, visceral feeling.
