To me the answer is clear: does defensive holding get called in the NFL? Then it belongs in the game. "If it's in the game, it's in the game."

Poll question: Should defensive holding be in the game?
Very simple question: do you believe defensive holding should be in the game, yes or no?

When do the h2h tourneys end? Same as last year, THAT is when the game will get back the things the tourney crowd cried about.

All the sim people will vote yes, but this is a good way to show people they aren't actually sim. I think this is as good a delineation as any.
Either way, I think most here are in agreement that it needs to be in the game. Because "if it's in the game, it's in the game."https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2049813056Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

I absolutely hate defensive holding as a rule. But yes it should be in the game.

OS is a mostly Sim website, that's why I felt no one from here would vote no.All the sim people will vote yes, but this is a good way to show people they aren't actually sim. I think this is as good a delineation as any.

If it's in the game...... hasn't been a marketing tool/symbol for the past few years or more.
People that have played Madden prior to that will remember that jingle for a long time. lolLast edited by roadman; 12-10-2017, 11:33 AM.Comment

Re: Poll question: Should defensive holding be in the game?
If the developers watched the Ravens-Steelers game last night I hope they noticed how PI and DH played an integral part in the game. It changed the complexion of the game and made strategic matchups even more imprtant. How this was taken out or neutered is beyond me..If the competitive crowd doesn't want simply take out the slider for that mode, but in order to be sim it has to be implemented like Madden 16-17..it is a very important part of the game..THANKS FOR THE TRADE SANDIEGO KEEP RIVERS WE'LL TAKE ELIComment

Re: Poll question: Should defensive holding be in the game?
Per Clint on Twitter, Tiburon listened to overwhelming player feedback about defensive holding and players' frustrations with that in tuning its frequency way down.
We can't simultaneously call EA morons for listening to their consumers and also complain that EA doesn't listen to their consumers. Those two things are directly in opposition to one another.
To the topic - obviously defensive holding should be in the game, especially on simulation game style, and also as a consequence for what personnel users deploy and how users call their defense.Comment

Things like this just show that the differentiation between game styles was mostly marketing BS. No reason to tune Holding completely out of simulation.Comment

Re: Poll question: Should defensive holding be in the game?
Thats cool but shouldn't the sliders and the mode determine how many DH calls should be made?..Sliders are made for customizing the game to your suitability..Even with that they didn't just tune them down they took them out so as much as I respect the EA team that's not gonna fly man!!..If Tournament people don't want it turn the slider down simple as that or take it out ...I don't think anyone is calling them morons but the majority that have voiced there complaint is based on what they told us about the three modes..If it's sim penalties should be called period..That's a bailout and the fact that all of this "we tuned the dH calls down due to complaints" sounds fishy at best especially this late in the cycle. This was not told up front if there is no DH why even have the slider... There should be a clear differentiation in modes to include penalties..so I ask what's the next move now? it's clear people want DH in the game..I do think someone created a poll and there are at least three threads about it..Maybe Clint should look at that !!!...Per Clint on Twitter, Tiburon listened to overwhelming player feedback about defensive holding and players' frustrations with that in tuning its frequency way down.
