Ideas on the Game Freeze Issue

I'm looking for ideas on solutions for the atrocious game freeze issue of this otherwise wonderful game. I'm on PS3 and cannot seem to play out a full game. Ok, so maybe not quite. I would say I'm only able to finish around 10 to 20 percent of my games. The system freezes at some point in the 2nd half, sometimes the 3rd quarter other times the 4th. It doesn't matter whether it's in Play Now or Dynasty mode. I've made 4 attempts to complete my 1st scheduled dynasty game to no avail. Quarter length doesn't seem to be a factor either. I've experimented with cpu vs cpu games as well and it happens there too. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

I’ve had similar issues before. Sometimes rosters or sliders you may use can cause it. For me I deleted the roster file and found a new one, problem gone. Only issue is I had to delete my dynasty since it was already using the roster file.

Thanks Hooky. It would suck having to use a different roster set. I really like the one I downloaded. I also have put a lot of work into it. But I'll try running some games with another set to gauge the outcome.

I'm running stadium sounds and hope that's not the issue.

Another thing I should add is that when it freezes, the entire system stops working. Basically, it crashes the PS3 where I can no longer do anything on the system. I cannot exist the game or anything. I have to hard reboot the system.

Again though, all ideas welcomed.

I’ve noticed freezes sometimes due to custom sounds that run back to back - ie stop on 3rd down - 4th down preplay, so I try to limit those.

I find the biggest culprit instant replay. I never use it anymore - I’d rather burn a TO when challenging than using the Replay feature.

I had my game freeze a few time , did notice too , I had to delete my custom. Sounds from my game. Hated do that but seem to have worked.

I was getting all sorts of weird things happening, like field not showing up, and locking up constantly. Figured I was gonna have to buy my 3rd ps3 in last 2 years for this game. Took disc out of current one noticed it was filthy. Cleaned the disk with Windex and everything is fixed!

What about sounds that repeat immediately, like home team calls timeouts on successive plays or you covert on 1st down on successive plays and your 1st down tag plays?

Do they not sell the digital download anymore? I went looking for it in the PS store but no luck.

what has worked for me is not touching a single button once the game ends. just let all the cut scenes and stuff play out until it bring you to the menu at the end of the game. I haven't had a single game freeze on me since trying this. also on PS3 by the way.

It should be the first one under ifixit. Hope that helps
