I played through Streets of Rage yesterday after you brought it up DJ.

Great game for its time. So much fun.

Think I'm going to bust out Ninja Gaiden for the NES. Never beat this game (has anybody?), and am going to try my luck again.

I've never finished Ninja Gaiden. That game is a beast.

I never did as a kid. There is a damn jump that is a very long one that a bird spawns just as you land and will bump you into the hole. Brutal. I can still feel the rage and hear the sound of the smashing of my NES controller.

Ever watch the speed runs of that game on Twitch.tv? People run it without dying. Its crazy. Like watching the guys beat Contra without dying. Outrageous

They are insane. I die 100 times on level 1, they don't get hit the whole game.

Today is the day. I am sick as a dog, but still at work. When I get home I am firing up Ninja Gaiden. Will report how I do. Was going to start Super Mario RPG but I think I'll slash the day away.

Ninja Gaiden was a beast. I did eventually beat it as a kid as well as 2 and 3. I also thought Mega Man 2 was difficult in the end trying to find what weapon defeated Dr. Wiley.

The only reason was because of my NES Max controller. It had a turbo button for a and b. Made game much easier.

I couldn't beat Ninja Gaiden as a child or a grown man lol smh.

But I did finish most of the Mega Man series, Blaster Master and Rygar...all which was very difficult back then.

That controller was awesome...the d-pad was floaty and the turbos were great!

Update. On act III of Ninja Gaiden. Death count, approx: 30-40. Updates to follow.

Reading through this thread I wish I had held on to all my older systems. I still have some but I wish I kept the N64 , Atari 2600 , and Sega Master System.

I've never owned a PS 2 , I think that's going to be my next purchase.

Definitely worth getting a PS2. There's only a handful of games out there today that are pricey; most you can get from $1-10.
