Any chance of them only producing games for Xbox if they do this?Comment

Re: Microsoft May Buy EA - What Could This Mean for Sports Games?
why would they do that and cut out half their customer base. Would not make sense to me. Is making madden, nba live just on xbox really gonna drive xbox sales? I dont think it will do that much for em . But hey , here is to them if they do . I wont be buying it .Comment

Re: Microsoft May Buy EA - What Could This Mean for Sports Games?
I would think a Microsoft-owned EA would go Xbox exclusive.
Edit: How many people bought a PS4 just for The Show? Madden is bigger and more popular than The Show. It would be huge for Xbox to essentially own football gaming.Last edited by LowerWolf; 01-29-2018, 04:38 PM.Comment

i just dont see it personally. You would be alienating a large number of customers. Ones that used to get the same game on different console. Not just the sport games, but Battlefield, just on xbox.... Just dont make good business sense to me . Your talking about taking long standing games , with well established player bases, and then saying you all must buy an xbox to play now? Sure some will , but your gonna lose out on a large customer base by pissing them off doing that too.Comment

I had a 360 that ended up dying so instead of buying a new 360 I bought a ps3 because of the show. I wouldn't ditch a working system for just one gameComment

Zero chance Microsoft buys EA and continues publishing its titles for PS4. It would be part of an exclusive strategy to carve out market share for Xbox, not because they need EA's profits. Repeat, zero chance.
That said, I doubt MS buys EA. But I've heard crazier rumors, you never know.RFF

Re: Microsoft May Buy EA - What Could This Mean for Sports Games?
I think some of you guys are thinking to small, EA makes a lot of games outside of their sports branch, now with Microsoft already being the weaker console when it comes to exclusives it would make a lot of sense to me that they would make all EA games only exclusive to the xbox one console and future Microsoft consoles.
Just think of the many titles that EA makes and all or them being exclusive to one console that's a huge deal.Comment

I don’t think many people would ditch a working system. But if the rumors are true, we’re only 2-3 years away from next gen. A next gen Xbox with Madden/FIFA/Battlefield exclusives would be positioned pretty well for the next round.Comment

Re: Microsoft May Buy EA - What Could This Mean for Sports Games?
I wouldn't think so but it's hard to say. On one hand they'd hand themselves a bunch exclusives but at the same time they'd be taking away the opportunity to double dip and sell games on both consoles and to the entire market. Just speaking to Madden specifically I'd think the NFL would have a say and wouldn't want to cut their potential consumer base so significantly by making Madden an Xbox exclusive. If this were to happen I'd envision something more along the lines of console exclusive bonuses where Xbox users get access to things like DLC and beta's first and/or exclusively.Comment

If Microsoft bought EA, that would be a death nail to all rival console makers if they made it Microsoft exclusive. EA makes a hell of a lot of games other then sports games.Comment

Re: Microsoft May Buy EA - What Could This Mean for Sports Games?
If i recall correctly, that would give playstation the motive to make their own nfl game. If it is produced by sony itself the exclusivity does not apply.Comment
