    $500 full season challenge

My roommate and I got kind of bored with the Show so we made a fun challenge. I accepted a 162 game challenge to play an entire season of MLB The Show. We agreed it must be completed by Sep.. I've honestly never played an entire season and the farthest I got was roughly 80 games so this should be hard. He laid out the rules below

    1) have to do all pitching, batting, subs, etc- no pitch counts or player locks or sims
    2) limited to trades that must be fair value- 5 trade limit
    3) limited to 3 FA signings unless serious injury/ so call ups will be big
    4) have to pick a team out of a hat
    5) must be completed by 9/7/18
    6) must play to win, so make or be within making playoffs- win above 75 games

any suggested rules are welcomed. He doesn't think I can do it, but I want that $500 bucks

I'm going to pick the team out of a hat in a few hrs. I have to pay the month of September rent in full if I fail lol so it's a pretty even challenge

Looks like I will be using the Phillies... I honestly only really play chises as the Padres so this could be interesting. We did a 30 team drawing out of a pot. Thankfully he allowed me a 5-team veto in which I included the Cubs, Marlins, Dodgers, As, and Toronto. My first drawing was Oakland... I vetoed that **** asap. Why would anyone want to play in that gross stadium for an entire year? Then my second drawing was Miami. Vetoed. It might've been fun to play with them, but Jeter stripped the team, and the stadium is also pretty hideous. My third drawing was the Phillies, which isn't ideal, but it's a hell of a lot better option.

Should do a bonus for every shutout you get or something. Also do something where you can't lose a x amount of games by x amount of runs or something.

He's only willing to do a perfect game bonus. I've never thrown a perfect game. We like to do friendly bets on real life games and stuff to keep it interesting. Although this season idea is interesting, it is going to be daunting and possibly miserable. I looked over the Phillies roster today and it is mostly going to take a lot of work

I'll post lineups and rosters tomorrow. First game starts tomorrow as well.

          Some notes:

          1) Traded with the Padres for Tyson Ross
Padres received pitcher Buchholz and 2B/SS Jose Gomez. Never liked the name Buchholz and would get annoyed seeing it plus I'm comfortable with Ross from all my previous chises.

          2) Signed 3 southpaw pitchers for starting jobs and relief.
          This team desperately needed it.
          - Locke 2yr/2.60m (4th SP)
          -Danks 1yr/2.3m (MRP)
          -Cosart 5yr/2.8m (MRP)
Since all three are SPs... I will likely move them in and out of the 4th and 5th rotation until I feel comfortable with my pitching rotation

          3) Fired Mackanin, hitting, pitching, and 3B coach
Nothing but negative attributes across the board. I brought in some random guy named Terrence Bundy (B rating with decent atts)..

          4) keeping a lot of these rookies and young guys in Triple-A until midseason

This team is going to be hard to care about for 162 because it's definitely not an exciting roster and probably wont be at all this season unless I was able to make a lot of trades, but since I can't, I'm stuck trying to figure out a decent lineup with players that really aren't interesting. I really wish I could do this as the Padres lol...especially now that they have Hosmer. Ugh.
