Which difficulty change do you speak of?

On the ea website it says:
      ------------
      Career

Difficulty tuning; reducing jump in difficulty at Contender.
      ------------

I thought the difficulty stayed at whatever you put it on. Do what does this mean?

Which is why I propose starting the career back 3-5 years; designed so that way the player hits top-10 in the UFC right about mid-2017, early 2018. Ages become relevant and the game can start dropping ratings as a function of age.

One of my greatest memories playing a Fight Night, way back, was when I went from elite to having challenging fights again because I could no longer keep my stats up against the decline inflicted from my age. I hit my late 30s and went on a 3 fight skid. I had to completely change my tactics, went to shelling in the corner and counter punching. Won a few, but even then I was too old and fighting guys too young/fast. Lost a bunch again, getting severely outclassed. Retired.

Does longevity get worse based age? The higher your age, maybe a mutiplier effect on longevity? Example: a hard fight that might have taken 2% off your meter early on in your career does 8% when you're 40.

As for stats, rate of decline increases the lower the longevity. Probably should affect just about everything but submission offense/defense. At some point the Anderson Silva slide happens. Your head movement and chin have decreased just enough for the young challenger to KO you.

I think we should be able to determine the longevity.

Ahh gotcha. So career mode doesn't use a static difficulty like fight now. In career, when you choose a difficulty, it is actually choosing a scale.

If you think of difficulty being a value from 0-100, then fight now difficulties are single values like 25, 50 or 100. In career, you are actually choosing a range, such as 15-40, where your earliest fights will be easier and the later fights will be somewhat herder. This is to account for things like stats and move sets improving over time, as well as the user simply getting better at the game.

Having a stagnant difficulty for the entire career ends up feeling very tedious and boring by the time you get to the end of if, as your opponents haven't really kept up with you as a player.

This system was tuned slightly, along with opponent stats, with regards to the contender portion of career. Previously there was a difficulty spike when you reached the contender fights, and it wasn't a great experience! Hopefully it's a bit smoother and more enjoyable now

Will we need to restart our careers?

Nope, shouldn't be necessary to the best of my knowledge.

Would love to see doctor stoppages and draws in career mode offline. Understand why it isn't online but would def. add a cool dynamic offline.

First of all, love the patch. I'm on like my 5th career mode already and keep coming back to it.

Second of all, LOVE that you guys have bigger plans for it. Hoping to see a solution to dialing back years at start, being able to play with existing fighters & their records/stats, and hopefully sliders in career mode

Third of all, any word for a fix on simple submission now being broken in career mode? I chimed in with it and someone said it was happening to them as well. Would love if that could be a quick fix, hopefully!

Glad you've enjoyed the mode this much!

The simple subs...hmm. We'll definitely be looking into that, but it was a somewhat unintended nerf caused by nerfing the AI's subs themselves. That change is rather unlikely to be reverted, so we'll have to figure out simple subs some other way.

That being said, simple subs were never intended to be a competitive offline tool. Certainly not on legendary and not really on pro either. It was meant for Easy and Normal, maybe Hard.

I play strictly offline career mode, and I've noticed some of the changes in the patch. I do like the idea of stats declining at the end of your career. Looking forward to more changes for the better!

Hoping there will be more CAF options regarding gear, accessories, etc. I also would like to see my fight history, for example one of my fighters won the heavyweight title at least 3 different times, but in my career I must have fought Struve 4 or 5 times with a few different losses. Would like to be able to see which fights I lost to him and how (submission, knockout).

It's the little things that will keep this game replayable for the future. Hope the Devs keep up the hard work!

Oh yeah, I totally get that! I'm by no means a super competitive player, anyway. I like putting my career on normal and going from there, I just wanted to hope we'd get back the option of getting simple submissions as an option at some point.

I would also love the idea of a New Game+ for Career Mode where we could make another fighter and apply the moves and attributes we work to learn/grow to that new fighter. I love being competitive, but I also love the idea of just having a power trip and having a fully loaded fighter going into the first WFA fight. Options for the competitive player and one who just wants to dominate.

Sorry, but this version of a career mode was by far the worst I've ever seen in any sports game. It's the equivalent of me starting a franchise on Madden, picking the Steelers to control, and then only play as the Steelers for the whole thing without even being able to see anything that's going on in the NFL around me other than my games. Rosters just stay the same no matter how long I play. The Eagles stay as the Super Bowl champions until I make it to the Super Bowl, even if it takes me 10 years to get there. Tom Brady throwing passes until he's 70 and ****. I honestly can't even believe how bad it is.

Here's some advice: go get any NBA2K from the last 5 years and see how they do MyLeague, and basically copy it. This game with an actual career mode that makes sense would be perfect for the calendar-style setup they have. That way, you can do your training between fights and also follow along with what's going on around the ufc. Maybe even have the ability to watch the fights that are on the card you fight on and any others in between. Having the same champions in every weight class the whole time is just a joke. I seriously could go on and on and on about how shallow this mode was, but I'm done for now. I hope you make a career worth playing for more than a couple days next time.

I play Madden, 2k and the show. And I can vouch for the guys before this comment. I love the career mode on UFC and I have found it very enjoyable. Is it perfect, nope, not at all. There are many flaws, but for me, its great fun.

I have even stopped playing the other games. Second, you cant compare one or the other. They are vastly different sports with different fan bases.

And this is only the third game by EA. Madden has been around ages as has 2k now. Give it time, it will improve. Madden in its 3rd game was bare bones, im sure others who were around playing in 90s., As for 2k in its initial stages, I played and it was also bare bones.

I am not trying to be rude, but comments like this have really no place here, and bring really no constructive criticism. Just straight bashing a game. SMH

I'm not trying to bash the game as a whole. I'm just talking about career mode. I have very few issues with the actual gameplay, but the career mode is absolute ****. No sports game has ever put out a career or franchise mode where the champions don't ever change and you couldn't at least follow along with what is going on in the league around you. That's just pathetic. For me to fight old *** Bisping for the title 5 years from when my career started, and all the other champions in every weight class to be the same as when it started, is a joke. Not being able to see what other fights are on the card that you fight on, or the cards in between your fights, is a joke. There are a ton of other things I could list, but those 2 alone make it pretty much unplayable.

Also, I could care less what you think about what I post about this game. This is the **** they need to hear, not somebody praising them when they put out half-assed garbage.
