    Basically my thoughts so far:

If you need a game to have great graphics and polish along with smooth and easy to learn controls, this game isn't for you.

If you like the challenge, not being a great hero to start, and can overlook some bugs and graphical issues this game is great.

Story so far is pulling me in and the side characters seem to be worth getting to know.

      Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PS4/XBox1/PC)

I'm about 30 hours in and am only level 7. I am taking my sweet time and it is an impressive and immersive game. The last time I neglected personal hygiene, sleep and meals this much was for Oblivion and Skyrim.

My daughter loves to just mainly go around picking herbs, and she's played with me a couple of session, and my herbalism has outpaced all of my other skills and is sitting at level 19. (I highly recommend getting the "Leg Day" perk in herbalism, as it adds to your strength a bit as you raise herbalism)

I progressed the main story to the point where I got my horse, and I feel like the world has really opened up. I am going to put the main quest on the back burner and head to the town where you learn to read.

One negative that I forgot to mention in my first impressions earlier, is that the save system is not my preference. However, I'm have a strong feeling that it was a design decision to limit how much you can save, so that you will contemplate your decisions more, and not just do a quicksave and go headlong into the fray, where death has a high probability. I will say this though, I am now proficient in brewing the Saviour Schnapps, and I have found a few spots where the uncommon herb "belladonna" grows. (and they do respawn). I hear tell of a large patch of belladonna, but rumor has it that it is guarded by some unsavory characters. If anyone needs a tried and true recipe for this, let me know. (the first instructions I found online failed every time I tried it; I can't read yet, so I had to look something up)

I really like the depth of the skills and perks system. And there's some things that I've noticed, and am not sure if the game comes right out and tells you things- for example as I have been raising my herbalism skill, I am to the point where I can gather like 40 St. John's Wort in one gather action, if the patch is big enough. Those kilos of herbs add up, and that's what has made the having the horse so great, all that added carry capacity, and you don't even have to be in proximity of your horse to transfer items to your horse's inventory if you're overburdened.

Oh, I mentioned that my daughter has played some, and I need to warn that there's some content that is definitely not suitable for children. One particular scene is downright rated R. (she was not home for that one, thank goodness)

Ok, here's a few more things about the game that are awesome:
      • Horses have several attributes including speed, carry capacity, courage (for jumping over things), and stamina.
      • really like the feel of the countryside, woods and towns. Very well designed.
      • It's not a daily struggle to stay alive, although I did fall to my death once walking along a steep slope....load saved game and lesson learned.
      • combat and archery takes legit practice. There is no aiming reticule when shooting your bow. You have to practice to get a feel for where your arrow will travel. Love this about the game. There are many kinds of arrows with characteristics of damage dealt, type of damage, range, etc.
      • Farkle dice game

A few more not so excellent things include:
      • horse handling (serviceable, but not as smooth as say Zelda)
      • sometimes in the character screen your portrait is extremely low res (XB1, definitely an occasional bug)
      • encountered a bug in an archery contest where an NPC participant did not shoot his arrows- which lead me to approach him to ask him "what's up?"- which led to my disqualification due to me leaving my shooting station lol, which was one of the explicit rules not to be broken.
      • occasional flicker of light, random graphic bug
      • pop up is pretty bad sometimes when riding your mount, or running in a busy town center

With that said, I have encountered zero significant bugs/glitches that have hampered my game in a game breaking or annoying way. No crashes or instances where I became stuck, etc.

There are so many things I'm looking forward to, like leveling up my hunting so I can spend a perk point to skin animals, learning sword combos, learning alchemy recipes, saving up for a better saddle for my steed, and also having some horseshoes put on. I haven't even used the grinding stone yet for my sword. Plus, of course, one day exacting revenge on a few main story characters.....

Ok, I'll leave on a loot note. I play as a fairly honorable Henry (I don't go around assaulting civilians nor sneaking around at night burgling peoples homes), so I don't have awesome gear yet. What I do have has been earned by picking herbs until my fingers bleed, or relieving items from fallen hooligans that messed with the wrong person (me!). So, my weapons and armour are still somewhat modest, so about 20 hours in I come across one of those "interesting sites", where I find a container with the following inside:

Everyone still liking this game? Best Buy has not had the PS4 version in stock for a week or so. Waiting for it to come back so I get my GCU discount

I didn't know it was sold out. I haven't bought it because I'm waiting on Best Buy credit. Guess it's nice to know I couldn't buy it anyway.

            Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PS4/XBox1/PC)

I’m still playing quite a bit. Had 62 hours the last time I looked.

I’ve been looking at the official KCD forums, and there’s been a lot of both praise & criticism. While there are a lot of bugs, I’ve only had 2 crashes in over 60 hours. (XB1)

One big complaint reported is that the combat gets trivially easy by mid-game. I have reached the point where I can one-shot a lowly bandit (one that is not outfit well) with one well placed strike, but some bandit leaders and other story characters can make me work for it, especially if I’m outnumbered.

The alchemy crafting is well done & fun, but there’s no other crafting to speak ok.

While I was pleased to find that bandit camps do respawn after you clear them, this game could really benefit from some more peril while you’re out adventuring. Sure, there’s a chance that I can get jumped while traveling the roads (both real time & fast travel), but those encounters are rarely challenging.

I would also really like to see random enemies on horseback. You never see that, outside of story sequences.

For a first time effort from the developers, they exceeded my expectations and I feel like I’ve already got my money’s worth, but due to the bugs and a few issues, I would also say it might be good to wait for a price drop.

One thing that has gotten better as I have progressed is the horse handling/control. At first it was a little wonky, but after you raise your horsemanship skill, it becomes really good. Plus i think you can purchase better bridles that supposedly improve control even more.

One of the biggest gripes I’ve read is the save system. People hate it, but it doesn’t bother me. You can only save from sleeping, some story events autosave, then there’s the Saviour Schnapps potion that you can either brew or purchase. I’ve got my alchemy skilled up pretty high and I can now autobrew 3 potions at a time, plus I have discovered a location with abundant belladonna (a required ingredient), so it’s no big deal at all.

The lockpicking on the other hand is too hard on controller, for me and many others. I’ve heard this will be patched.

Finally got to pick this up. Only played for an hour or so late last night.

Got to the combat training and it's better than I even imagined based on what I read. I wish Skyrim was just as fluid. Not sure why it would be called clunky. It's very straightforward and there are actual manuevers and combos that can be pulled off.

I've barely touched on the story but I like the character interaction and dialogue choices that weigh your skill / talents against the other.

                    Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PS4/XBox1/PC)

So far so good from Warhorse.

Very impressed with the voice acting. The character models can be a bit stiff but the words are performed so well that it kind of doesn't matter. I spend most of my time reading the subtitles so I get to ignore the stiff models during cut-scenes.

This may sound weird but most games (let's say like 90% of them) have a story so convuluted or dumb that after about an hour or two of playing I have no idea why I'm even killing enemies or sneaking around. It becomes a game of just doing random things and of course those games end up being boring and tossed aside. Kingdom Come is not out of those games (so far). I am very much aware of the story (a little Star Wars-esque) and the characters are very believable. I'm invested and that's important because I get to treat every character interaction with the importance the designers intended.

I'm still very early in the game because there are a lot of cut-scenes and they are very long. One thing I find very odd is the cut-scenes do not pause when you back out of the game and onto the PS Dashboard. Every other game automatically pauses cut-scenes (at least the games I've tried this with). Unfortunately, if youre' like me and you're not sure how often you might be interrupted while playing (my 10-month-old has no respect for my gaming), expect to miss scenes or feel a bit on-edge during cut-scenes hoping everyone just gives you 5-10 minutes to watch and listen.

Luckily I have not missed a scene yet but I tested the "not" stopping by reading ahead in subtitles, backing out to the dashboard, then returning to the game, and finding that the character speaking was still going on while I was away.

This can become a bit of a problem as well since some interactions require timed-dialogue choices. So be weary of your time. This is not a game to sit-down for 10 minutes and think you'll be okay because you can freeze when in the dashboard.

Something I really like is the inventory screen. I don't know if it's the colors, the interface, the set-up, but whatever it is it just feels right. Very comfortable. I knew exactly what I needed to do and how to get there. Compare this to Shadow of Mordor (which I'm playing alongside this) and it's night and day. Where Shadow of Mordor is a nightmare to cycle through (I don't even bother to look at the menu unless the game prompts me to press down to add a skill point or check a new item), Kingdome Come: Deliverance is clear, concise, and even offers some nice historical information about the time period and location.

More impressions coming. I echo a lot of the things everyone has already said. I think this is a very well-developed (excluding bugs that the developers are continuously working on remedying) game based on a couple hours.

So for those that are playing...
Without getting too deep so I don't spoil the story for people, did anyone do like I did and forget to bring their horse with them on their journey back to Skalitz to take care of some personal business?

Was I actually able to bring my horse? Because the gates are down and it looks like I'm walking!

For a game about doom and gloom, it's a lot of fun.

PS4. I have not noticed any serious bugs. Some weird graphical glitches but nothing major, really.

Happy Easter everyone! There was a patch recently added by Warhorse for Easter. I believe it was for all the platforms. Patch notes are vague and says many bug fixes. For those on PS4 could you verify 2 concerns for me; Has the instant save features improved and has the lock picking improved too? Hopefully, this isn't an April fools joke either. Thanks.

I have not tried the new patch but what were your concerns?

I tried lock picking and it was easy.

I exclusively use the save and exit feature all the time. Have not touched one of those potions yet.
