I'm pretty sure it would only effect other teams if you made the custom tactic from the main menu, and before you started your career.

Here is the link to the thread I started in the EA forums to let EA know of this issue. I am sure if more people voiced this issue as well, maybe EA would take notice. http://fifaforums.easports.com/en/di...custom-tactics

Re: FIFA 18 Nintendo Switch users

Just a thought, what about making a list of things that we think we can fix, then start (as a group) playing matches and working on or two sliders or small groups of sliders. Sort of a community set like for the PS and XBox set.

I am really happy where it's at and it's playable but I know I am and I'm assuming the rest of you love soccer/football, so let's perfect the set as well as see if we can minimize the issues within FIFA.

Let's take the format of the base set and modify it like in the first post of the community sliders, you make a change - explain it.

I just think if we keep going like we are, we'll end up with an amazing FIFA experience and if it comes back to Switch, we'll have a good jump on it.

Who else is in helping Bixer and creating FIFA Gold?

Additionally, I think a big thing is trying to deal with the cpu "superhuman" aspect and lower there shear luck. I'm all for getting blasted if I mess up but when the odds are stacked, it's a bit annoying!

          User/CPU:

          Sprint Speed - 50/48
          Acceleration - 49/48
          Shot Error - 41/41
          Pass Error - 57/57
          Shot Speed - 56/56
          Pass Speed - 54/54
          Injury Frequency - 92/92
          Injury Severity - 71/71
          Goalkeeper Ability - 26/26
          Marking - 48/48
          Run Frequency - 57/57
          Line Height - 99/99
          Line Length - 50/50
          Line Width - 50/50
          Fullback Position - 30/30
First Touch Control Error - 45/45

Sprint and Acc: I knocked this down a tick on both in hopes of trying to combat the superhuman CPU aspect.

So far seems to solve the "superhuman" and "turbo-powered" human speed. Players for the cpu are still fast, can still burn you but it relies more on the cpu player stats than this freakshow speed contest.

I have only tested one game with this since I worked another 14 hour today, will test more tomorrow since I'm off and do an across the board test tomorrow.

Pass Speed: Changed this due to the realistic speed aspect as posted a few pages back.

Injury Freq: I bumped this down to avoid what I now call "insta-cramps", it's still produces injuries and cramps but not a automatic every player cramping.

Marking: I took back up to 48 as a thought of its a sweet spot in my testing that seems to give a good mix of getting punished and finding a hole to get away with a great move.

Run Freq & Line changes were what Bixer posted and I see no reason to change it.

Feel free to criticize and test changes. Just think the more we share and "group think", the more awesome we can make this.

Sounds like a great idea! Definitely on board with getting some group testing going on in here. I can potentially edit my initial post to have the current sliders we're testing if people think that'd be helpful?

Another area I was testing last night and trying to eradicate was wingers dropping far too deep when defending. You want them to put a shift in for sure, but the way FIFA seems to set up at default is a little too Mourinho-esque and as I've mentioned elsewhere there are too many occasions where you actually end up with more of a back 6, with your wingers becoming the fullbacks and your actual fullbacks becoming 2 extra CBs. That's the kind of set up you might want when you're defending a 1-0 lead in the final minutes, but not the kind of set up you want right from kick-off.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else notices this or if it's just my wishful thinking, but it looks to me like 50 might be something of a threshold for the Line Length setting, and simply moving that up to 51 for both teams seems to keep your wingers actually playing as wingers even in defensive situations. Does anyone else find that or is it just me? I suppose maybe by having the Line Height at such an extreme setting forces the need to push the rest of the team out somewhat slightly too.

I've also noticed that formation plays a big part in this. Again this will likely come down to an element of personal preference and how defensive or offensive you want to be, but I find only the formations where your wide players are actually listed as LW/RW are useful. So for example if you want to use the somewhat standard 4-2-3-1 formation, you're actually better off using 4-3-3 (holding) as it's essentially the same shape, with 2 CDMs and one midfielder further forward, but the difference is that your wide players' starting positions are naturally higher up the pitch as either LW/RW instead of LM/RM, so they're less inclined to drop overly deep by default. Of course, this is only particularly relevant to formations with 1 striker and 4 defenders.

Definitely, like in the community post having that original post updated makes it easier to reference to sliders and what versions are actually being tested.

Going to try the new line setting when I get home.

The less they do, the better..

Are you referring to issues on defense or in attack? The only attacking solution I've found is to always use L1 to ask them to make a run. But even then the wrong player runs at times.

Actually both, when on defense just just let the guy fly past if I can't get there. On offense, don't block me when I'm trying to move.

                    L1??

Question, I've never played with player lock and only being able to control a single player, so I was curious before I try it, does your other AI teammates attempt to score and/or succeed at said attempt?

Also, how is the defensive aspect only having control of one player?

Sorry, not sure what button it is on the switch yet but I'm pretty sure it was L1 that sent teammates on a run.

Player Lock is the only way I play so I can give tell you the good and bad with this way of playing.

Firstly, when playing as player lock you don't have to worry about controlling the defense anymore. They will pressure on their own, (although you can still press the pressure button when you see fit).

I highly recommend playing the the World Class difficulty setting. Playing on Legendary setting I notice the other team's AI is better then your own team's AI. I believe your own team's AI is always set at World Class.

I think your AI teammates are quite functional soccer players on their own, (passing, shooting, crossing, etc.) but you can always call for a pass, tell them to shoot, or cross the ball. Let's say you play as Barcelona, one of the funnest things about playing this way is having Messi,(controlled but the AI) on your own team and watching him pull of the some amazing, passes, dribbling, and shots.

To summarize, I think player lock is the most fair way to play. You don't have to worry about trying to get the exact difficulty right because you are only one player and it's more about trying to play to the strengths of your team. You don't always have to be the superstar, but just play your role depending on what position you pick to play.

I first started playing as player lock when they introduced it back in the Euro 2008 game and haven't gone back since. I have a buddy who comes over every so often and we play on the same team this way and it's a blast.

I'm playing player lock now, I can honestly say, it will be the only way I'll play from now on! So much better than the other way, plays realistic and WOW, what a difference!

Quick question though, when I substituted the player, I lost player lock! How do I get it for the new player?

                              Awesome, glad to hear it!

Yeah that is one negative. You can never sub your player that you are controlling otherwise you have to control the whole team again. So pray your player doesn't get hurt
