Wait a minute.... People didn't see this coming?..... Come one now.

LOL at the questions being asked. The NFL is asking if you like "Men". And 2k is asking "Why do you want play in 2k league?". Where is the Russell Westbrook meme when you need it

    But on a serious note.....

When you have a field so big and so many people so much time into their players. And then to get knocked out. You have to wonder what was going on in the background. And who was picking who. I think 2k should look into a G League type of situation. Just so players can get their name out there.

My prewife ask the other how does the NFL and NBA go about ranking a player out of high school and college. I couldn't really answer the question for her.

By the way I'd love to see these adavanced stats.

I'm still offering my services for training if anyone needs any in the tri state area.

at, you better copyright that. You might be on to something. Its part of what people were talking about when saying the combine should stay as a separate mode in the game. now to your point. a 2k G-league would be money. they already have the Gatorade support. WHY NOT. Gatorade would easily pay enough in ad dollars to have that league/build of the game named after them. Then if 2k is smart. whatever stats they think they need to determine who's good and who's not. they can use it in there to constantly track people. No teams though. you go in there solo just like the combine and play with randoms. The rule is. If you quit out X amt of times per month you can't go in again for a full month. if you quit out X amt of times in a year. you can't go in again at all. and that goes for disconnects. If you're disconnecting that much your connection aint ready.

The simnation guys have provided some great commentary about how the community is representing itself throughout this process.

Brian Mazique has been immensely insightful. His basic argument is that a lot of guys are too young to realise that presenting themselves as marketable to the corporates is half the battle, and some players are burning bridges.

Combine was crap. Aka don't have respect for the results or the stat chasers. If you played in it, you know what I mean.

what did they think would happen when you're pushing 18 to 24 year old dudes? lol. we all kinds of crazy at those ages. talking completely reckless online, etc. then you add this generation of 18 to 24's. and you have a mix of the usual crazy with "nobody can tell me anything cause I'm fly since I"m young." and its over. lol.

So if these guys are burning bridges like that. it means the guys that will make it will not be the best. because the some of the so called bests have probably already burned those bridges or will be looked at as not marketable.

Unless the league realizes who they are marketing 2k players too. it's not the same as your normal esports audience. not even close.

I don't think you really understand the effects of an actual sports league sponsoring and promoting an eSport.

2K fans are a subset of NBA fans. The "crowd" that gets alienated by presenting it's EMPLOYEES in a professional light is minuscule at best.

You might as well be calling Allen Iverson good for business when you make this post.

I usually don't.... But I totally agree with you!

If people think they can just burn a bridges and will get selected they have a whole new world to figure out. This is basically getting a job in real life. The best aren't always going to get picked.

Guess some people don't realize an Employer can hire whoever they feel like since they are paying the salary.

The arguments are flawed anyway because he doesn't use one set of examples to present his case but different pieces of evidence from different people.
The people without the bloated stats might have been accepted because they were the right personalities and wouldn't strangle their teammates after living with them for a few weeks.
OR they played for their team
                        OR their application was good

Anyway at the end it doesn't matter. I have hired many developers in my career and i don't care if they are genius coders if they come with baggage or attitude problems.

You aren't entitled to be picked because you have awesome stats.

Ok thank you!!! I thought I was the only one that thought. After watching both his videos I've come to same point... He has no clue about getting a job lol.

And I want to bring something up. Being selected for something like this is special. Yes draft picks go through this all the time. I grew up with tons of players in Brooklyn that I thought should of made it in the league. But there is so much more that goes into the process. And I hope people look at this as a lesson.

I didn't know there was this much drama lol.

It seems you guys are missing the guys point.

                            How do i explain this.

It's as if you're only talking about what you want to talk about in regards to what he's actually speaking about.

                            It's real simple.
Did the 2k league tell the community it was all about the combine and nothing else(as far as nothing else gameplay wise prior to the combine)? YES they did. and he shows proof of this over and over again. we didnt need that proof because we all read the stuff where they said that.

Pause.... now in your mind you're thinking "but we all knew that was never going to be the case since this is a business...."

Thats besides the point he's making. he's not saying its wrong from a pure business standpoint.

It's the equivalent of how some people argue in favor of capitalism and big business even when they clearly are crapping on the little guy and doing things that are UNETHICAL. now is it legal?SURE. is it unETHICAL? YEP.

This guy is talking about the ETHICS of what went down. Not does it make business since or not. thats it thats all.

if you realize thats all he's talking about. you will also realize he's right. So the discussion should end there unless you want to talk about what Should the league have done otherwise from a purely ETHICAL standpoint. and before someone says but this is about business.
I want you guys to remember and i know some of you are old enough to know this. If you graduate with a degree in business or something related to business. you almost always have to take a course on business.......EThics. Why do you think this is? Because without it, you will have people doing business based purely on the numbers without regard for human's being involved. You do not want that kind of business. Because that means anything goes. When capitalism was starting off, even the guy who helped created it said yall better keep an eye on it because otherwise it could get out of hand. meaning if left to its on devices it has no feelings. you need feelings (ethics) when dealing with people.

In my opinion, what should have happened was simple. the league should have only said their are various methods we will use to choose who gets in. And left it at that because this is the first time around they will not get it right. I promise you of that. it will some good picks and horrible picks and some in between. but thats how it goes the first time around. the next time you can be more transparent because you yourself know exactly what you're looking for and how to go about filtering out people or getting those people to pop up on your radar. This way people would've been mad at the lack of transparency but at least no one would have actually said one thing when something else occurred. Which is this guys entire gripe in a nutshell.

Just because us older heads are used to the BS of corporations doesnt make it right or ethical. And thats all this dude is talking about. thats it. and it doesnt matter WHY he's doing what he's doing either. even if it was 100% because he didnt get picked. doesnt matter. a lie is a lie pure and simple. Did they lie? YEP. thats it.

Was it rigged? YES to a degree it was. does that mean it was rigged for every spot? NO. But it was rigged purely based on the fact you swore one thing was the thing that counted on the basketball side and we now know that is not the case.

In addition, the league brought this on themselves by talking too much and saying things they knew were not true. you and i all knew they would pick some guys based on their previously play outside of the combine. we already knew this. but they should have not have said a word or kept 100 and said we have chosen X number players from the draft already and the other slots are from the combine/interviews, etc. people would've been upset early. but again, you still never lied to them. so they could get over a truth a lot easier.

Lastly, it was bound to be somewhat rigged no matter what they were using to choose guys based on the mere fact you have teams running around talking to these dudes as well as the Head of the league following these guys. You can't do that. and this is where they can't hide behind the "you kids dont understand how big companies work."
STOP IT. the real nba doesnt do what they just did. They hit Magic for tampering the 2nd time for answering a question about the greek freak saying Yeah he's going to bring the bucks a ring one day. Like if thats tampering. you know what the 2k league was doing was well beyond that.

Again this is the first time around. I have a feeling they didnt take it as seriously as they are trying to make the young guys take it. they were thinking I can follow these guys, i can talk to these guys whats the big deal this is JUST A....video game league. this aint like...the real thing. Well, now they know. that cant happen the next time.

Yes the NBA does do that.

You think this guy is going to be on a team now after those 2 videos?

The NBA can choose who it wants to showcase. You don't bad mouth the very league your trying to get into. They are paying you!...... They don't need you. This guys best course of action. Would be to erase these videos. And relax. Change his screen name. And start all over again. He literally signing up for a job. "He can run home to his daddy and say look. I make money playing video games". He burned that bridge.

Ask any OS Vet around here. "How many times have we had trailers and blog post by 2k people for when release times comes. It's not in the game?.... Seriously Ask....I'll answer it for you.... Every single release.

Say it right there on the box "Subject to Change"
