I can't really comment on 16 and 17 as I skipped those between 15 and 18, but 15 has a bunch of serious flaws in CFM that can't be fixed. Watching Youtube videos of people making franchises in M17 is what got me to purchase M18 this year. And so far it has been well worth it.
Very minor bugs with M18 CFM right now and great game play.
