Being rocked should feel more dangerous

Getting rocked in this game is just like "oh again, yea cool, I'll just block for 5 seconds". It is constant and repetitive.

We should have more rocked states in this game, with different fighter reactions. Stanky legs, sudden buckling of the knees at the moment of strike impact, devastating rocks where all senses seem lost despite still standing.

Some rocks should also be lasting longer. Irl fighters can be rocked for a minute at a time. Or with sustained assaults, entire rounds (Fabio Maldonado was rocked for 2.5 rounds vs Glover)

Maybe the answer is for strikes to penetrate the block easier on rocked opponents (yes I know you can get through block by wide/straight punch combos, but that typically just results in a knockdown that does nothing because you can't even jump on them)

The same goes for knockdowns, they should feel more dangerous, always.

The amount of "rocks" could also be reduced, to be honest. Make them less frequent, but more dangerous.

I just kneed a dude 4 times in the head while he was ducking down but I lost the fight via leg kick combo spam tko. Getting hit especially with a knee ducking down should be a death sentence especially after being kneed in the head 4 times.

The entire system of rocked/kocked down/tko/ko is really bad in this game IMO. I was just watching some old gameplay videos of UD3 and I really liked the way they handled this aspect of the game. I wish they could steal as much as they could from it. IDK what they could change in a patch tho.

Just let fighters be allowed to follow you down.

Re: Being rocked should feel more dangerous

Most important change that needs to happen, is basically remove this horribly implemented new "running" animation...

It looks like garbage and doesn't belong in the game...

It's only purpose is to be frustrating instead of being usefull or anything else...

What were they thinking when they added this? Everytime you rock someone your fighter starts automatically running like a moron, if you press to move forward... And all he does is skate in the air and waste 50% of your stamina...

But apparently spamming headmovement all game doesn't even make you break a sweat and burn a single calorie... There is no consistency with all of those mechanics and that's the most frustrating part with this game...

I don't get why it would have been such a hard decision to try and immitate a realistic system instead? Realistic for Health/Stamina/Movement/Health Events...

Instead we have to have bullcrap like "Throw 200 strikes, costs 1/100 stamina, but miss 1 strike that the opponent slipped and it costs you 10/100 stamina)"

or how about "I just rocked my opponent, i want to take my time and attack carefully"

                  - " HAHAHA NOPE! YOU GONNA THROW 4 STRIKE COMBOS TILL YOU GET ONE OF THEM SLIPPED AND BECOME TEMPORARILY GASSED AFTER THROWING 4 STRIKES AND YOU ARE GETTTING INSTAKO-ED BY A PREDICTABLE COUNTER BECAUSE APPARENTY A STRIKING GOD LIKE ANDERSON SILVA DOESN't KNOW THE BASICS OF THROWING A JAB WITH THE LEFT HAND WHILE COVERING HIS CHIN WITH HIS RIGHT HAND!"

Re: Being rocked should feel more dangerous

So the biggest issue people seem to have is the balance between realistic and the basic attempt by the game program to make the game playable. Let me explain. Lets say they use some of these ideas, where if you are rocked then the danger is real intense and the chance to lose is great. For that to happen the other fighter (to be realistic) would need to also get a boost in adrenaline as they do in real life in an attempt to finish. The problem is that in a game where the USER doesn't fight like real life would just attack non stop because they would be able to finish every time. But in real life when someone is hurt they still need to be cautious because the other fighter is still able to have the threat of that one big shot that could rock the other guy. The game as it is now when you are rocked you cant throw hard or fast. So if they tax that more then its game over after a rock. No one wants to have a 1st round KO every fight within 2 minutes. People just don't always play realistic, maybe there needs to be an arcade style mode and a sim style mode, IDK.
Basically the point is that if the goal for gameplay is super realism then everything will have to slow down and it will alienate may players that don't have the patience for slower more sim style gameplay. So in the end you have to hope the person you play will play realistic and not just take advantage of the way the game is balanced. Does it suck, sometimes maybe but the answer I think is finding a league for those that want sim gameplay.

Re: Being rocked should feel more dangerous

Yes, it doesn't feel dangerous when getting rocked because you just have to hold high block and can eat a minimum of 2-3 more strikes. If you are not an complete idiot it won't be dangerous at all most of the time.

Next thing is, health events feel random in 80-90 % of the time. I barely have the feeling I worked to rock my opponent nor did I something wrong when my opponent rocks me.

I really think it is absolutely crazy that EA didn't add a minimum of 5 other animations to follow up with strikes after KDs and connect while a fighter gets up. Getting rocked on feet is stale af because you always stumble backwards. Why, why in the world didn't we get animations to make those health events a bit more random. E. g. stumble randomly north, south, west and east. Or falling onto your knees near the cage etc. etc.

I don't think the main reason is they dont have money for more animations. One or THE ONLY reason is "competitiveness". I absolutely hate competitive sports games where every single move has to be controllable. If you have mutiple modes to choose from like Madden, alright. But in EA UFC 3 this current competitiveness absolutely kills my immersion.

What about consecutive rocks causing a major health event so someone can truely tea of without doing the 4 jab to round strike.

Bring back the tax for getting knocked down. Dudes are getting dropped 3 times in a round and coming back full stam next round. This is beyond dumb looking.
