The roster download with default conferences is on page 8 of this thread. I just tried it and it works.

I have come across this problem doing some personal editing on these rosters. My guess is it has something to do with hex editing. This is with the default conferences roster. Most of the names you can edit in game but one problem I have now is the team Stephen F. Austin now has the last name of a player I edited. I changed the player's last name back to Stephen F. Austin and it changed the team back. Weird. So if anyone is editing this file don't change the last name of any player that has the name of a team.

I just went through and was updating the ratings of the players myself and names. I got through the Big 12 and went back to do small edits and saw this.

I am starting fresh with a blank roster and might just skip this year and get next years rosters started. I am going to make them as in depth as I can.

Ratings and tendencies can probably be edited without problem, but editing the jacked up names can cause issues. Sometimes editing one name changes the name of another random player. On some rosters the names are ok, but some have several issues with player names.

Are you going to use the default rosters, to see if you can edit without changing team names?

Not quite sure I understand what you're asking but,

I am starting from the original rosters -- naming every player and editing their ratings/looks/etc. I am assuming that this won't reach a character limit (the issue I ran into w/ my second year roster). I really don't mind doing it this way, helps me keep a better idea of consistency and overall team ratings just a bit longer.

I am going to this years 17-18 and then work off it this summer for next. Currently couldn't even do Pitt's roster cause of everything that has happened in the last two weeks :P

That's basically what I was asking, I worded a bit weird. There's a glitch on the PS3 where if you edit coaches it may change the team names. I was kinda asking if you could somehow bypass that.

when editing past year roster's coaches, I found out that to avoid this issue you should not edit teams which names are quite long (like Stephen F Austin). When editing those the name get shorten up and the name banks get screwed

Hm, I'll play around a bit with it then. I save it on 3 different files that way if something happens I can go back to another file if something drastically changes and auto-saves.

Coaches and tendencies will be fine tuned after I get the initial release out.

I have downloaded these rosters and when I go to do a new legacy there is only 5 teams..but with the default rosters there is like 15. Is it because there is only 5 teams under a 70 overall rating for the entire roster?

Exactly why that's the case.


Side note: I may scrap this years because it's too rushed and get next years roster process started. I'm still weighing my options. It's a lot of work and I don't want to rush through it to just get a roster done. The only issue is for smaller teams evaluating their recruits. It's why I normally wait until after November to release the rosters cause you can get a better idea of at the time of who's who and what the improvements look like. Also show breakout stars which I do not anticipate and just put emphasis on the current year

If you wanted to use a specific team, you could change their lineup and/or change players position to make the team's overall lower.

Based off some other real life projects I have been doing it's unreasonable to get this years rosters done.

I'm officially going to start from ground 0 for next year as soon as the tournament wraps up. My goal for an initial release will be one in October and one right before conference season kicks off. It will probably be the most in-depth one I have done. I'll make a post for it once I am good deal into them.

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question....but when I try to load these rosters (after copying them on to my PS3)....it will not allow me to load them. The message I get is

THE FILE YHOU HAVE ATTEMPTED TO LOAD IS FROM ANOTHER USER. PLEASE LOAD A FILE THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR USER PROFILE.

Can anyone assist me? Thank you in advance.
