Yh that's crazy. But even crazier, Hollaway actually has a chance to pull a Conor now and get both belts and this is still a really interesting fight tbh. Him vs Khabib style wise is gonna be very interesting.

Max has the striking and stamina advantage very curious to see if he can get up from khabibs takedowns

It all comes down to that. And tbh it's probably a bad matchup for Max, considering his past matches with wrestlers and guys that grappled him. Guys like Dennis Bermudez, Dustin Porier and hell even Conor have had success taking Holloway down and grappling him. So against a guy like Khabib, it doesn't look to good for him.

Hollaway has not let anyone in a long time take him down.

Also Blessed had a twisted ankle against conor.

Well he can get a pass against Conor in that case, but we can't dismiss the fact that all of his losses come from guys that have grappled him. Even if he hasn't been taken down in a long time, we're talking Khabib here, who's definitely going to be the best wrestler Holloway has ever faced. I personally really don't see him being able to stop Khabib's wrestling...especially when I remember those past losses and how he lost, but who knows. We'll see.

Yup same. Glad he stepped up. Still a good main event and if Holloway can win it, he's a two way champ.

Holy Jesus this is how I find out about this!?!?

THERE ARE NO GODS!!! EVERY TIME!!
Ugh. All I want at this point is Tony v Khabib.

Max vs Khabib is interesting as hell, sure.
But It's also now a 99% sure thing for Khabib, sure, Max has beautiful striking, but his ground game is no better than RDA's when Khabib ragdolled him, he's at a weight disadvantage.. I love that he stepped up but I'm so bummed that Tony v Khabib just will not happen.

                    It's like a paradox, ugh.
With all this said. I'm totally rooting for Max.

Also, did Connor say he was ready and waiting if either gut dropped out? Man that dude is full of ****, Kudos to Max for backing up his talk.

Even if McGregor wanted to step in, the UFC wouldn't let him fill in on such late notice when they've already sold tickets at non-McGregor prices and not had the opportunity to put him on talk shows etc. It's just not financially worthwhile to have him fight on short notice.

I really want Holloway to win, it sets up a way better fight with McGregor IMO. A rematch with a guy he beat on his way up, who has went on to win both titles McGregor won and also defended the featherweight strap who's trying to avenge his most recent loss. It'd also probably be more fun to watch as it's less likely to be super one-sided. But, it's so hard to pick a guy who got outgrappled by McGregor (even 5 years ago) over Khabib, it's so hard to see him not getting ruined.

I'm absolutely gutted right now ...I'm so sad ....this fight is cursed .

This is the 5th or 4th time now that this has happened .

I literally check Reddit MMA every day not hoping to find out that the fight is off for some reason and get this ...

                        Damn ...

                        Damn....

                        Arghhhhhh
                        .....I can't believe it .

It's weird but wasn't max injured last month or so ?

Max deserves all the respect in the world. 6 days notice to fight this undefeated animal. Unbelievable from Max.

I love Max but I can’t envision a single scenario where he wins this fight. As soon as Khabib gets him to the ground then it’s a wrap. The only fighter who would give Khabib a tough fight is Tony, can’t believe it’s fallen through again.

Pointless fight. Max will get ragdolled. Complete waste of everybody's time. I'd rather Khabib fought someone like Kevin Lee (I know he's booked v Barboza) but a wrestler like him that could be hard for Khabib to take down.
