Player not up for OROY

Maybe this has been covered. Maybe not.

Year three, online solo cfm.

Coverted a WR I drafted to HB to back up Gurley in my franchise. Guy had great WR and RB attributes. Breakaway 97 speed and 88+ elu. 75+ receiving attributes as well. Natural fit for my offense as a receiving/spell back.

He has gone nuts for me. 1200+ yds rushing. 1200 + yards receiving through 11 games. 7 rushing tds and 11 receiving tds. He is almost unfair with his physical attributes but it’s my chise and I am having fun.

He has 200 plus carries. Gurley has around 250 carries.

He is not even on the list for OROY. He is second in MVP voting, second in OPOY, and currently leading for Best RB. Historic rookie campaign. He should be the runaway OROY, yet, he is not even on the list.

Anyone else experience this? Is it because he is not the starter on the depth chart? I cannot add him as my third WR on the menu depth chart, but I add him there in game. He splits carries with Gurley pretty evenly.

I want to get him the OROY he has definitively earned. Should I make him the number one for the last five games? Is it because I converted him to HB?

Anyone else have this happen? Anyone have a solution or is this a goofy maddenism I just will have to live with.

I had a QB this year that I drafted got the MVP award and best QB but was not ever in the running for oroy. I edited the players number as he came in with #7 on my broncos team (as does every new QB, punter and kicker) but didn't touch anything else on him.

Something else that kind of irks me is that twice I’ve had my corner lead the league in picks with either 8 or 9 and somebody else will win best db because they had one or two less picks but over 100 tackles compared to my 40. The worst part is that my guy won’t even be number 2 in voting and I’ll have safeties that are higher because I used them and get 15 sacks plus the few picks they get.

Tried starting my guy for the last couple games. No change. It appears this is just another Maddenism, emblematic of the lack of attention to detail that comes with owning a monopoly and mailing it in on this kind of stuff for a decade plus.

I've seen this with Rookies who have the same names as other rookies. On DL it has the history of the other player tied to the rookie so that may screw it up.

Was he undrafted? I had a similar scenario where I had an undrafted WR blow up and finish in the top 5 in the NFL in receiving as a rookie and he wasn't on the OROY list at all either but I assumed it was because he was undrafted.

It is strange how it works sometimes. I remember Darren Lee (LB for the Jets) having a monster defensive season in my 4th or 5th year in of my solo league. He won AFC DPOY, but wasn't even on the list for LB of the year.

Make him the starter in the depth chart and see what happens. You can always put Gurley back as the starter at the beginning of each game if you wish.

Well he didn’t win OROY. Won OPOY and Best RB though. He was undrafted. Currently in week 6 of my current season. He is still beasting, but resigning him cost.

I’ve seen some undrafted guys win OROY or DROY their second year in the league. Curious if this will be the case with my current dude.
