    Dominick Cruz head jab

Why is it with Cruz that you have to press the buttons on extra fast to do a strike after a jab to the head? Cruz has his own signature jab animation of course but I think the button response is quite slow when you try to even do a straight after the jab. When you factor in online and the slightest delay or lag or whatever is in play it sometimes doesn't register the straight after the jab.

I wish you could double up on Cruz's signature jab.

It's difficult. If you're planted and not moving you get more combos of his jab, right?

Correct, you can also combo normally.off his jab while circling left or right, so you can either throw a moving combo or plant after the jab and combo normally.

There's a learning curve, but Cruz is a beast when you get him down, you can pretty much do everything, counterstrike, stick and move, pressure, I generally slip a lot in the first while untouchable is active and he has 103 headmovement, then fall back to a rangey, short and unique lunge based footwork and jab game with sporadic wrasslin' for good measure.

As for the unique 1-2, I believe you can combo a lead hook off the 2, but it feels delayed, you can possibly also throw an inside leg kick, but I'm not 100%, you can also cancel the 2 and it'll turn into his unique evasion lunge, handy for baiting counters as you can combo a 2 out of that lunge as well.

Nice. Is there any way you can double up the jab with Cruz?

Only stationary jabs double up for Cruz.

His signature moving jabs don't double up.

              afair

I don't use the double jab too often so it's not a big deal that he can't do it while moving. Would be nice to have but it's not a deal breaker. I still love using Cruz. Maybe they could have him do his signature job and then do a normal jab if you double it up.

That probably wouldn't work without changing the animation, as his advancing jab is basically a reaaaaaally overextended Jab. He doesn't move off the position you throw it from, but it covers the same ground as an advancing jab because of the way he leans into it, so the follow up jab would just whiff unless you hopped into striking range, if that makes sense.

I find that jab is amazing for confusing peoples range, they'll often think because you can hit them they can hit you back but by the time they're reacting to the jab your already out of kicking range.

Has Cruz ever doubled up that lunging jab IRL? I haven't seen it but it doesn't mean he hasn't, if he has they should definitely copy that and put it in.

To combo his signatures you need to input them super quick. Else you’ll throw 1 and pause. I was excited to use him but those strikes ruined it for me, also made trying to break block super hard as you can’t walk forward and every block break combo involves a jab or straight

I do agree with this, the timing for his unique 1-4 is WAY to tight.

Even his 1-2 has no real room for changing the timing, you can't load it off the jab, you have to queue both usually.

I do hope they get bigger input windows.

For block breaking ill usually try to get the opponent on the fence, or they're not just flatout retreating ill use the strafing 1-2's which work like normal.

But this is something Dom in his current state cannot really do anywhere near as effectively as others.

I find a slower counterstriking, range based game works best, you can also use his wrestling/GnP to wear down the block to atleast help with this.
