Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
Over the past few years, the news hasn't trickled in about the new game until EA Play, which is second week in June.
This thread was put up a few weeks ago.

One guy claims there will be huge improvements to franchise mode:

I guess five years later, it’s better late than never! Cynicism and sarcasm aside, hopefully 18 was the kick in the pants this crew needed. I don’t like Rex at all, but here’s hoping that that tweet is a sign of good things to come.Comment

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
Agree, but a year that see Jon Gruden back at coaching, and on the team he should have been coaching in the Super Bowl - The marketing value couldn't be better, IMO, for Franchise focus.
Other games like MLB The Show 18 got criticized for their lack of attention to Franchise this year, from what I read. It may be hard to find anyone who would say that Madden Franchise is as good as MLB's at this point in the series, so this would be a great opportunity on multiple levels.
I believe there are many players who will play a sports game if a particular mode is great, even if they do not like the sport, particularly well. If EA/Tib can make Franchise noticeably better, that could bring in more consumers.
My personal opinion is that MUTs excitement is peaked. I know I have been increasingly less excited to play the mode and grind the solos. There isn't much more they can do for that mode, IN COMPARISON, to what they could do in Franchise.
I also think a Road to the Super Bowl, or Road to the Hall of Fame would be great; This would be similar to Road to the Show in MLB. The issue is, outside recourse for such a project, is clearing up the means to use NCAA teams.Comment

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
Gone are the days when Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario, would design sprites, levels, code AI logic and so on. Now, you have designers, people who work on graphics, lighting, people who work only on animations, people who design models, and as for coders, even they are split into specific areas; my guess is in Madden you have teams designated for coding the logic of franchise and teams designated for coding gameplay. And it would not surprise me in the least if even gameplay is further subdivided.
Long story short: neither improvements to franchise, nor improvements to graphics/aesthetics/uniform/etc, has even the SLIGHTEST effect on improvements to gameplay. This MYTH is borne out of ignorance about how modern game design works. Games are simply too complicated for that sort of thing to occur, except in very small indie studios and lone programmers of crappy smartphone games.Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
Also just to add to my previous post, simply hiring more people to work on gameplay wouldn’t necessarily improve it much. They’d have to be the right people, and the team would need the right leadership and vision.
Not to mention, many of the problems are with the engine itself, and while over the years Tiburon’s people have found ways around flaws in the engine (an absolute staple of programming, by the way- in fact my brother had an argument with his boss two weeks ago about this very thing with respect to simulating physics), there may be limitations into how far they can go with it.
Tearing the whole thing down would require hiring an entirely separate team, since the game has a yearly cycle, and there is still no guarantee that what that team makes will be better than what the current team makes (see the “jump” from Madden 2005 to Madden 2006).Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

The return of Superstar would make me return to the game by itself. I could probably overlook my current gripes with the game for that alone.Comment

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
I would love them to fix CFM first and foremost. Love them to tune up the AI logic on and off the field. But I think if they said "hey we didn't do anything different in Madden 19, but we did remove the Longshot story mode." I would buy it. My goodness what a waste of resources in development.Comment

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
Ive come to terms with the shortcomings of the gameplay. I dont like it, but they arent going to completely redo the engine....maybe ever. Why would they? They have sheep who buy the game every year regardless of what they put out. Thats why the game hasnt dramatically improved outside of graphics in about 15 years.Comment

Re: Anybody has Madden 19 news ?
I just want Jimmy G's face in the game. And shorter long sleeves, and shorter undershirt long sleeves. And reversing the lighting at Levi's.
If they fix that, I can play as the 49ers with Madden 2018 and be happy.
...
Of course I'll take massive CFM updates and improvements in game play too.Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image
