They said available in 2020; does that mean the it will be available for the 2020 college football season (2019-2020), or the 2021 season (2020-2021)?

There will be a lot of moving parts that all have to come together, I would guess mid to late 2020, but would love to see it happen earlier.

On the fence simply because there is zero in-game gameplay. Until I see how it actually plays and the game modes, I don't care.

As they plan for their roll-out, IMV Gaming is working on next steps such as discussions with game developers in the manufacturing partner selection process as well as the future games for 2021 which include a potentially licensed version of Gridiron Champions and potentially a college basketball experience.
Digging past all the flowery boilerplate text: IMV intend to IPO to raise capital they still don't have, without any product (or even a prototype of a product) to show potential investors, and they also still don't have a team in place to assemble the product or prototype? What the hell kind of racket are they running? What person in their right mind is going to back this with real money as it stands right now? They have literally nothing.

I remain incredibly skeptical that this adventure will ever put a game on the shelf for anyone to buy. They're still trading on hope, nostalgia, and literally nothing else, and that's going to catch up to them at some point.

Re: Gridiron Champions College Football details.

IF this game actually gets made and hits the shelf, I'd be very interested.

But there's a lot of questions here ...

              1. Can they manage to develop and implement a full creative suite like they claim? Will it have the capabilities that 2K does now (logo uploading/template sharing)?

              2. What in the world will gameplay/graphics look like? Developing a gameplay engine that accurately replicates real football is a feat that still hasn't been accomplished by Madden, despite over a decade of exclusivity.

              3. What are the legal ramifications of the aforementioned creative suite? Will colleges actively sue users who upload their logos? Will the developers merely put out a disclaimer that users who upload licensed logos do so at their own peril?

These are just some of the things that need to addressed before any real hope can spring. That's not even pointing out the fact that, apparently, they haven't really even begun development on it yet (though, from what I interpret in the article, they are aiming for a 2020 release that would occur in the summer period, much like NCAA used to), and there are no real names attached to the project.

If they can manage to put out a game -- even just an average one -- it'd be a big win for all football fans, but until such a time we have evidence that this thing can be more than a hypothetical, I can only wish them good luck and god speed.
              Any comments are welcome.

Every successful video game started the same way. Hopefully this turns out a lot better than the Joe Montana fiasco. Time will tell but these guys seem to be up front with as much as they possibly can. You are right there are a ton of unanswered questions.

If they can release a game that delivers a portion of what they have here, that's a win.

However, I don't see how this is anything new from these people. It's just another package of concept art and intended feature set.

I don't think this ever happens for a myriad of reasons, but like any game I'll consider it if it becomes a reality.

I don't really see how only being able to raise a couple hundred thousand dollars (which they might still need to give back, has there been an update on that?) in 2 years inspires anyone to invest in an effort like this.

                    Edit:

So no developer yet, still 'in talks' with Big Ant Studios: https://twitter.com/IMVGAMING/status/988473605603414016

Here's the news I was wondering how they'd address:

                    Date: March 31, 2018
The minimum goal of $850,000 and deadline of May 15, 2018 have been REMOVED from this Pre-Sale due to new fundraising developments. Anyone that wants a FULL REFUND will be granted on upon request only. Insiders all were made aware of these changes in the March Newsletter.

Unbelievable. This might top the awfulness that was the Joe Montana Football hype.

This is still the thing I don't get. If it was such a great idea does no one think a real developer would have attempted it? Why would they need these guys as they bring no IP, tech, or anything really with them. These guys bring "heart" and "determination" and any other cliche for why people claim their unoriginal idea will succeed where others have failed, but nothing that would make a developer want to cut them in.

This really feels like a pink sheet stock to me.

Everything seems very premature. They don't have a deal with a developer yet.

The wording on their official site is a mix of vague and non-committal.

We would like to include customization and a roster share feature so that our players will be able to customize their college football gaming experience to their liking.

We intend to allow users to customize the generic rosters, teams, stadiums, and conferences.
iMackulate Vision (IMV) Gaming has several game developers that they have spoken with and are in active discussions in selecting their manufacturing partner(s).

                          RELEASE DATE

Ideally, we would like to release Gridiron Champions in 2020 but everything is dependent upon when we are able to reach our funding goal. The sooner we reach our funding goal, the sooner we will be able to begin the production of Gridiron Champions.

No, because the game will never see the light of day. As much as I'd like to see another college football game I cannot understand the hype for this. People are going to get their hopes crushed just like when the Joe Montana VR people fooled them into thinking their game was going to be the next great thing.

Agreed. I will root for them, but I think it remains on the side of unlikely the game ever makes it to market.

EA has football games they could easily re-skin (Madden) and/or modernize (NCAA '14) if they wanted to jump back into the college sports fold. This would be a relatively easy solution, especially compared to what IMV wish to accomplish. We can only hope this attempted revival spurs EA to get back into the mix and figure out the licensing aspects.
