    WR Steve Mosley

    ---- ----

Recruiting | Nation's #2 WR Mosley narrows list
    Tue, 27 Jan 2026 10:41:15 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 5-star WR Steve Mosley (6-3, 168, 4.34 40 time, #2 rated WR) has narrowed his list of school choices down to Alabama, Florida, and Tulane. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native will visit with Tulane officials this weekend at his home, according to Jewell's report, however it is believed that the defending national champion Crimson Tide currently is the favorite to land his services.

The speedy blue chip wideout, who is the nation's #28 prospect overall, could possibly compete for immediate playing time in Tulane's steadily improving offense. He'd join last year's #1 high school receiver recruit Grant Brady (80 ovr, 92 spd pre-progression) and last year's sophomore sensation Adam Lawson (83 ovr, 96 spd pre-pre-progression) to give the Green Wave one of the fastest and most potent receiving cores in the nation next fall.

Recruiting | Nation's #5 MLB Fowler narrows list
    Tue, 27 Jan 2026 10:51:28 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that 4-star MLB Anthony Fowler (5-11, 233, #5 rated MLB) has narrowed his list of school choices down to Ohio St., Michigan St., and Tulane. The Ironton, Ohio native will visit with Tulane officials this weekend, according to Jewell's report, however it is believed that his hometown Buckeyes currently hold the lead for his services.

With the Green Wave losing star MLB Mario Young (91 ovr) to graduation, Fowler could find himself in position to compete for a starting job as a freshman.

Roberts (LEFT) and Dunbar (RIGHT) have both been retained for next season.

Tulane | Both coordinators to return
    Wed, 28 Jan 2026 04:19:14 -0700
Dianna Russini of ESPN reports that Tulane head coach D. Geezy informed her that both offensive coordinator Joe Roberts and defensive coordinator Karl Dunbar will be returning to the team in 2026. The move, or lack thereof, marks the first time since 2023 that Tulane will return both offensive and defensive coordinators from the previous season.

The move to keep Roberts comes as no surprise. In his first year as offensive coordinator, the former Tulane running back's offense finished 7th in total points per game last season with 36.2 per contest and 21st in total yards with 5,421 on the season.

Dunbar however found himself on the hot seat late in the year, as shoddy run defense and big plays given up in the passing game became a big issue in year two of his tutelage. The former Alabama defensive line coach's defense finished ranked 104th in points given up per game, giving up 27.4 per contest last season. The team also finished the year 101st in total yards given up, with 5,080.

Geezy indicated to Russini that he did not feel Dunbar had the horses he needs in the secondary to succeed with his pressure-based 3-4 defense, something the team hopes will be changed in 2026, as the team has already signed five 4-star defensive backs to aid its secondary next fall.

Editor's Note: For those that haven't been around, this just means I will be using the same offensive playbook (Ole Miss) and same defensive playbook (3-4) from last season.

        Tulane | Nation's #2 WR Mosley commits
        Sun, 1 Feb 2026 05:29:15 -0700
Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that, after giving strong consideration to both Alabama and Florida, 5-star WR Steve Mosley (6-3, 168, 4.34 40 time, #2 rated WR) has committed to Tulane and will sign with the university on Wednesday's National Signing Day. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native, who many had considered Alabama to be the favorite to land, visited with Green Wave officials at his home on Saturday and informed Jewell of his decision later that same night.

The speedy blue chip wideout, who is the nation's #28 prospect overall, could possibly compete for immediate playing time in Tulane's steadily improving offense. He joins last year's #1 high school receiver recruit Grant Brady (80 ovr, 92 spd pre-progression) and last year's sophomore sensation Adam Lawson (83 ovr, 96 spd pre-pre-progression) to give the Green Wave one of the fastest and most potent receiving cores in the nation next fall.

"This is really a game-changer for our offense, as it gives us really three top-shelf options in the passing game," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy, who also admitted that it was great to steal such a significant recruit from the Crimson Tide.

"Not only does he provide us with another big time option in the passing game, but he's a guy that a couple of years from now could emerge as our top wideout. We're all pretty pumped here about the signing and can't wait to see him in the lineup."

Unable to agree on dollar figures, Geezy will let his contract expire at the end of the 2026 season.

Tulane | Geezy calls off contract discussions
              Tue, 03 Mar 2026 15:23:24 -0700
Erin Andrews of FOX Sports, oddly always tuned in to anything and everything concerning Tulane head coach D. Geezy, reports that after months of negotiating a new contract without agreeing to terms, the 17th year head coach has decided to end contract discussions until the end of this upcoming season. Geezy, who has been Tulane's head coach since 2010, will become a coaching free agent at the end of the 2026 season.

Andrews reported in January that Geezy is looking for a 5-year contract in the neighborhood of the $15 million per year Nick Saban received from Alabama after the Crimson Tide won its second straight national title this past year, however the current offer from Tulane appears to be in the 3-year $10 million per year range.

"Geezy remains committed to Tulane and does not plan to leave, however both sides are far apart on what they perceive his dollar value to be and will let next season play out," Andrews stated on-air.

"He does not want to leave New Orleans, but we will just have to wait and see how to the two sides feel about each other at the end of this season."

Tulane has experienced unprecedented success under Geezy, winning two national titles (2016 and 2018) along with six SEC titles after returning to the conference in 2014. The team has not won the conference in four seasons however and is nearly a decade removed from its run of national titles, which is putting a strain on negotiations on a long term contract.

Tulane announced that the team will switch to green as its primary helmet color starting next fall.

              Tulane | Uniform tweak made
              Wed, 25 Mar 2026 15:23:24 -0700
Eve Jewell of ESPNU-New Orleans reports that, after receiving positive responses after wearing the look during last season's bowl victory versus Penn St., the Tulane Green Wave will be making a slight switch with its uniform combinations this upcoming season, making green its primary helmet color. Jewell also reports that the team's all-green look, typically reserved for rivalry games versus Alabama, LSU, and Southern Miss, will now be its primary home uniform.

"The Wave will still wear its white helmets maybe once or twice a year, but from this point forward, green will be the primary helmet of choice, even when wearing their road white jerseys," reported Jewell.

"The team will still mix things up every now and then, but the only time you will see white helmets is when the team has "white-out games."

The school made the switch to white helmets in 2012, and has only worn its green helmets on average of twice per season. Now, following the change, that frequency will in effect flip-flop.

Brown has easily been the biggest surprise during the team's spring practice sessions.

report courtesy Taylor Bisciotti, SEC Network

Tulane | RB Anthony Brown turning heads in spring practices
              Sat, 18 Apr 2026 17:14:17 -0700
Taylor Bisciotti of ESPN's SEC Network reports that Tulane RB Anthony Brown (84 ovr., post-progression) is quickly emerging as the centerpiece for the Green Wave's offense during spring practices. Brown, a sophomore and former 4-star recruit, appears to have made a huge leap from year one to year two, and has become very adept with his ball carrying vision, open field moves, as well as catching the ball out of the backfield.

"He really reminds a lot of Alvin Kamara back when he was at Tennessee," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy, referring to the 8-time Pro Bowl and future first ballot Hall of Fame Saints running back.

"The way he is able to sliver his way out of tackles and make guys miss in space, I don't think we've had a back like this in my time here, and that's including (former Wave running back) Reggie Moore. And we have thrown probably 60 passes his way in team drills and he's only dropped one.

"He was really quiet last season and quite honestly I am really surprised, in a good way, the way this kid has looked here in year two."

Last season, as a true freshman, Brown rushed for 337 yards and a touchdown on 75 carries, playing behind former Wave RB Tony Tompkins. He also caught 3 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. Based on Brown's performances this spring, expect those numbers to increase significantly in 2026.

                          Thanks man.

After a nice break of over a month, I am really looking forward to this season.

The team is coming together quite nicely; hopefully we can figure out a way to navigate this tough schedule. It has now officially taken me longer to win ring #3 than it took me to win ring #1, so I feel we are well overdue for some success here.

2025: Senior RB Tony Tompkins was held to just 5 yards on 5 carries in the first half before exploding through the Buckeyes defense for this 80-yard touchdown run on the very first play of the second half.

Last Meeting: Former Tulane RB Tony Tompkins had one of his signature performances, rushing for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns as then-#10 ranked Tulane defeated then-#2 ranked Ohio St. 34-24 in last year's home opener for the Wave at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. In what was the first ever meeting between the two storied programs, the Green Wave fell behind 21-17 in the third quarter before outscoring the Buckeyes 17-3 the rest of the way, improving to 2-0 on the young season.

                            2025 Season Recaps:

: Tulane came into the 2025 season with national championship aspirations as always, however they finished the campaign with a 10-3 record and ranked #15 in the final Coaches Poll. They ended the year with a terrific 31-23 victory over #13 Penn St. in the Capital One Bowl, however head coach D. Geezy's squad failed to win the SEC for a fourth straight season. The Green Wave got off to a hot 7-0 start and were ranked #1 in the nation midway through the year, but the team's year got derailed via a 32-20 loss to Alabama at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, sending their season into a tailspin. This year, the Wave returns 7 starters on offense, including junior QB Jimmy McBride (86 ovr) and junior WR Adam Lawson (88 ovr), along with 7 starters on defense.

: Despite being a program that's seemingly always on the cusp of greatness, Ohio St. failed to win the Big 10 conference for a whopping sixth consecutive season and ended the year with a 8-5 record, their worst finish since 2016. The Buckeyes got off to a 6-1 start last fall, however a three game losing skid in November doomed their chances of winning their conference or becoming a factor in the national title race. Hoping to return to the big stage in 2026, Ohio St. returns 6 starters on offense along with 9 starters on defense, including likely future first round NFL draft pick DE Justin Tucker (90 ovr).

                            Head Coach D. Geezy's Take

Coach Geezy addressed the media prior to his team's flight to Columbus.

Heading into the 17th season of this regime, as has been the case for just about every year, our clear goals are to win the SEC and to win a national title. We haven't won our conference since 2021 and we are now 8 seasons removed from our last national title. First things first though, and the first thing on our slate this year is a trip to The Shoe to take on The Ohio State University.

Despite us being in the SEC, this is going to be an environment that we aren't used to playing in. This is this program's first ever trip to Columbus and that stadium seats 107,000 and can get extremely loud. We will really need to be on our P's and Q's communication-wise and execution-wise. Their defense really feeds off that energy and they have playmakers at every level of that unit. If we struggle early, we can find ourselves in a world of trouble.

It is extremely important for us to protect the football and for Jimmy McBride to make smart decisions in the passing game, because they have a secondary that can make you pay. Their two bookends, Justin Tucker and Tony Hawkins, get after the quarterback very well and combined for 3 sacks in last year's meeting. The timing of our short passing game must be on-point as does the running game so that we're not in a spot where those two guys can tee-off on us all night.

This is a hell of a week 1 matchup - we are playing in prime time and a national TV audience will be tuning in, and we hope to put on a show. We believe we are one of the better teams in college football, and we need to prove that out of the gates here this weekend.

Thanks bro...when I started this project up 8 years ago, I never would have thought that I'd still be playing this thing in 2018.

Here's to year #17 and hopefully still many more to come (if the contract negotiation sim gods don't screw me at the end of this season)...time to kick things off with the Buckeyes!
