For those who don't play every game, how much do you sim?

I would like to have more than 1 CM going at a time but I have a hard time sticking with them once I start simming, & i just don't have enough hours to spend playing FIFA to play every game among more than one save, so I'm curious what kind of a system people out there have for simming some and laying others.

One thing I was thinking was for a club like Crystal Palace was to sim games against the top 6, but that still seems like it would leave too many to play and still make it through a few seasons.

I actually do a player lock style of career mode. I control my created player as he naturally progresses. Any games that my player doesn’t play then I won’t play that game. This can be due to stamina not being fully regenerated (rest) or injury.

I play the 1st 8 games of season. For the remaining 30. I split them in to 6 groups of 5. , then play 0/5, then 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 5/5. So i end up playing 23/38 league games. And I always play any cup games. Gives me some reason to keep a good roster assembled as well as keep me motivated to get though seasons

I play most league games and champions league games and sim some of the cup games. If i'm destroying the league then i'll pick and choose which games to play and sim the ones against the real bad teams.

To me, it's the most fun around year 2021 and on because of all the regens so i sim more in the first few seasons.

One idea I use occasionally when trying to build a club, sim against teams below you in the standings and play the teams above you. Or the opposite. Just depends on if you'd rather play more games when your team is bad, or when your team is good.

Sometimes I will start a CM and play games based on league standings. If the team I'm playing is in the top half of the table in league, I play the game. I always play Euro/Champions Cup matches.

I try to pick two league games a month and sim the others. I play all the Champions Leauge, Euro League, etc. games

I am having so much fun and variety of results in my Stoke City CM, playing every match. I am not in a hurry, Fifa only goes to 15 seasons if I keep going anyways. Might wait to get 19 when I can get on sale down the road, and patches all drop.

If you can go to Black Friday, night as well!

On a side note, if you have a physical copy, you can always trade it in at Best Buy where they have a deal where you get the trade in value plus $10 to go towards fifa 19 pre order plus another $10 gift certificate to use on something that’s not fifa 19 and if you are a gamers club member another $12.

New version of the game, or new career mode

Play every game until I can’t do it anymore “1 1/2 seasons ish”

Switch to play only big games, rivals, or stadiums I’ve not seen yet

After that

Win, sim till lose, lose, play till I win

Thanks for the great idea mate I do a very similar thing in both FIFA and NBA 2K. I was just wondering with your cycle do you sim until you lose and then play the very next match until you win or sim until you lose and if you lose the game after then you play?

A loss via play/sim is always followed by a play.
A win via play/sim is always followed by a sim

It’s usually how I get through the middle of the later season, year 3+
If it’s getting late in the season and I could push for cup etc, I’ll start playing more.
