I've only played 2 exhibition games thus far but the game seemingly plays a solid game of baseball. The increase field size seems evident from the get-go. The game looks super clean on an Xbox One X at 4K. While video game sports announcers can get annoying (well, they can in real life too) I'd like to have them included here even if at a basic level as the game is a little quiet overall.

Need to start customizing for my crossover league from past baseball games (Bases Loaded, Baseball Stars, RBI Baseball, etc).

Playing on Xbox One

Played 2 games Ego 25 and 2 games at 45.40.45.40 last night. So far, it is everything I was hoping for, in that it maintains the same gameplay feel from the first game, while greatly improving the player models.

Stadiums are very nice and maybe THE highlight graphically. Some of the between inning camera pans genuinly pretty. I, for one, would welcome a stadium DLC.

The team editor is really nice. You can churn out some nice looking stuff with minimal effort.

Didn't run into anything "buggy" in my first games

Early impression gripes would be with the small fonts used for much of the gui information as well as the Balls/Strikes/Outs display. I found this stuff tough to focus in on and grab the info desired within the second or or so given between pitches.

Played an online game last night and it was the best online game of baseball I have ever played. I won 4-3, jacking a HR in the top of the 9th and using my closer to to strike out the side in the bottom half.

The gameplay just feels natural, and all of the risk/reward stuff is really well done.

nice.. this is basically what I like to hear. Thanks for posting that. I didn't play SMB1 but looking forward to this version mainly because of online play available. I'm downloading this on PS4 when I get home from work today if it's available.

Just one thing I wanna say so far.

If you're coming over from the Show, be aware that while you CAN preload your throw with the meter, there's a certain timing window before you field the ball that you have to hit. It's a generous window, but it's not like The Show where you can pretty much preload your throw the instant the bat makes contact with the ball. If you preload it too early your fielder will just stand in the outfield with the ball. Be aware that human opponents will take extra bases on you all day if you don't have this down.

I hope next year they implement online leagues. For now it is more of a score chasing mode, and pick-up games with friends.

Yeah, I got nailed by this a couple of times.

Gotta give the devs credit, though. Playing the game really does teach you how it works well. When you do something wrong, it makes sense.

Nice. The game is pretty solid. I won my first game 2-0 in five innings. It's a nice fun pick up and play game that does have some depth, which I wasn't expecting. I've been looking for another game to get into with my son. I think this will do. Especially now that baseball season is in effect. Xbox Game Pass and EA Access are the best value in gaming by a mile!

i love the sound the ball makes when its in the air.
this game is just really fun.
hopefully we get a stadium add on at some point.

Not much to complain about. Seeing how i loved the first one, and this one is even better

I've only played one game, but I didn't have an issue.

Kinda bummed there's no RPG element to it this year. Managing my players' stat boosts was one of my favourite parts of the game.

On PC, I just wanted to mention after several more games that I do see a bit intermittent stutter from time to time. The thing is, it's not frame drop - I have the Steam FPS counter up at all times while I'm playing and it never drops below 60. So that means it's probably something in the game engine causing it.

I only get it for like a few seconds, and no more than twice in a 9 inning game. Very infrequent.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised they removed this too since it was such a unique part of the game's season mode. Found out about it the day before the game released on some dev Reddit posts.
