Ever since 2007/8 the game's "career mode" didn't seem to noticably improve and I just stopped caring. I haven't touched it in years and am a happy person. I'm also not missing anything according to friends who still play.

For me 2008 was the best year, I finally had a decent pc to play it on full graphics. Ever since they just tinker with the game mechanics and often ruin the game until the 3rd patch.
