The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Re: "Bat arrow" symbol next to player's name
Not a huge deal, but; Could they pick a more confusing and messy icon? What was wrong with the top 50 icon before? It was pretty obvious with the "50" being the focal point what the icon meant.
Re: "Bat arrow" symbol next to player's name
You'd think they would update the icon legend at least. "50" seemed pretty straight forward to me. I actually thought this had something to do with Patterson's walk-off double in the previous game.
Re: "Bat arrow" symbol next to player's name
The improvement to franchise mode that we'd all been begging for, probably the same focus group that asked for phases as the most important thing missing.
The only, tiny amount of logic I can see for this is that there was previously more than 50 players with that icon, a lot of whom weren't on the top 50 list when you looked, so presumably one person complained about that so they changed the icon to this weird bat arrow thing to get rid of any confusion caused by the 50.

I'm confused, what's the symbol for top pitching prospects, a bat?

Yup, pitchers in the top 100 get the same bat arrow icon. It is weird how you can mess up something so simple and irrelevant twice. First time they put a 50 on all top 100 prospect, then to fix it they put a bat on all top 100 hitting and pitching prospects.
The mind boggles as to how you manage that tbh, as Houston points out, switching it to a 100 would have been the obvious choice?
Re: "Bat arrow" symbol next to player's name
Hey guys, sorry for the confusion on this icon. I wanted to update/change the Top 50 icon for next year since the Franchise menu is called "Top Prospects" and there can be more than 50 as some of you have already mentioned. The symbol is just a take on the menu tile icon that we used in The Show 17, hence the ball/bat/arrow design.
Unfortunately the icon slipped into the patch without any of my other updates to the HELP menu symbols legend. I'll update the HELP menus for the next patch, which includes a few other new symbol descriptions/updates that had always been missing from the game.

Thanks! It isn't even a big deal, we just like to fuss about the minutiae lol
And if some of us were given a thousand dollar bill
we would say "who's gonna give us change for that?" ๐
