Re: Make UFC3 Ranked Great Again! (Feedback & Suggestions)
Guys, can we stay on topic? Not trying to be rude, but my entire post is about addressing the shortcomings of the online infrastructure itself, not about specific gameplay / meta changes. Admittedly my thread title doesn't specify this, but I don't want to go off the rails.
Thanks.
I would really hope they increase the incentive to use lower rated fighters. Rank loss should be reduced and rank increase better. I think it would increase the diversity.Comment

What the hell is up with this P2P network this weekend? Game has mostly been an unplayable lag-mashing fest. I think I dropped from around 37 to 250ish on the UT leaderboard in one session.
Oh and another one of these:

Network quality and manipulation desperately need attention.Comment

Hey Zombie, I thought about this but had one concern. Would there be ping requirements in order to decline? I feel like someone could avoid certain players by taking advantage of this.
Something needs to be done about it for sure, I think anyone who is recorded taking advantage of latency such as Ty should have their account banned.
It's exploitative and he clearly knows it.Comment

Make denial windows longer and more forgiving on the ground and in tie clinch. The more dominant the position the bigger the denial windows. Nobody just breaks out of Silva’s Thai clinch. No one just shrugs khabib off. No one just gets out of several subs. No one just eats shots all day trying to fight outside. Look at fnc. Two thing I would like to see in rank:
Option to rematch (every fighting game has it).
And I think it would be cool if we players could ban a small number of fighters in every weight class. But the ban should work only on non tittle fights.
It would force players use a broader range o fighters, and make the gameplay more varied.Comment

Players would still just use the best non-banned character. So for example, if Whitaker was banned all you would face was Paulo Costa.
We need to incentivize using lower ranked players.Comment

Re: Make UFC3 Ranked Great Again! (Feedback & Suggestions)
Just fix takedowns in general really. There are issues with the stand up of course but may people tell the devs daily about them, the issues I dont see raised enough are with the grappling, just cos alot of people have no respect for the ground and want this to be a kickboxing game.
When you throw a kick you shouldn't be able to pre load a sprawl or a submission while the animation plays out. You should be locked into the animation and unable to sprawl at all while the kick is being thrown, after wards you should be able to sprawl but it should be timing based, like everything else is supposed to be. So, you flick down as my circle is filling you sprawl, do it early o late you fail. Just holding it shouldn't be a thing. Same with the clinch.
2nd, stats not seeming to matter for TDs, admittedly this is a whole lot more prevalent in Ultimate Team. 100 TD vs 70 TDD, yet the 7 TDD guy can throw a wheel kick, miss it, and perfectly time a counter guillotine t the takedwon he shouldve just given up, by throwing a silly kick against a grappler
Other issue is Side Control. You have sort of an Arm trap mechanic to help the sub layer, but you've left it so much room to be abused. There is no reason whatsoever for the sub person to not just constantly flick to sprawl.... If they start doing it with no stamina there stamina comes back while they continue to do this. Top player cant land any hits , cant block the fakes, but can still get there transitions blocked by the layer faking. Im not saying take this away, by any mans, but there needs to be a price that you pay. In mount, you fail to arm trap me, your guard goes down and you lose GS. There is no guard in SC, so simply make it cost stamina!! Yes you can do that if you want, in the short term, to avoid damage, but abuse it and now you're draining yourself. I just find it a completely skill-less way of getting out of danger.
To summarise, as it stands atm, a player just needs to learn to pre sprawl every time they throw a big strike, and they can never be taken down. If they mess up, and end up on bottom, they just need to lie there til the ref stands it up, if theyre against a good player who slices through them, once it gets to SC, they start sammig arm trap til the end of the round or the top guy gets frustrated and tries mount, which is underpowered, and now were back in the loop.
Note that the SC thing is less of an issue if using a fighter with Crucifix but not every fighter has that, so anyone that doesnt, SC becomes a stalemate position. It shouldnt be this way
Just my suggestions ayway, hi all
I’d like to add that a player should not be able to deny BOTH WAYS. Say I’m going for a clinch and have been doing that all fight you’re gonna be focused on clinch denial, so if you flick up when I’m shooting for a TD I should get that TD you shouldn’t be able to flick down and essentially deny both. This adds a mental layer to the game. I remember in UFC 2 there was a player called Retro Rocky that would kill me with this.
Another thing is knees not interrupting strikes in the single collar clinch. It kills the grappling for me. The clinch deny window is already HUGE along with the aforementioned ideas above. Then the break window is also incredibly fast. Not only that, but the knees whether it be body or leg also won’t interrupt the leg grab TD, nor will it interrupt the outside trip TD. I think it only interrupts the Thai Clinch Transition.
I feel if this was brought back along with taking away the up/ down predenial in clinch / TDs we’d get a lot back in the game in terms of balance. It also doesn’t call for an overhaul because these are / were small features that were ALREADY in the gameComment

I think the only way to incentivize the use of lower tier fighters is to make them stronger... Nobody would stay with underpower characters if they lose over and over..Comment

My idea is to allow players to ban like 3-5 fighters in every division before they queue for a fight .And if you ban a fighter you cant use it aswell.

the best way is to have an increase in ranking points for using low rated characters and reduce the ranking lostComment
