If that's the main new franchise feature that's disappointing. Doesn't do anything for a competitive online cfm.

That sounds similar to "Custom Draft Boards" last season for offline players.

I'm sure they'll have more, however this was the most requested feature on Rex's Twitter poll.

I'll take it. And don't underestimate the power of this to change a franchise over a few seasons and help immersion. Not to mention archetypes combined with this could transform how you build a team. That is...if implemented correctly.

The skeptic in me expects this to mean that there will be zero busts and sleepers; that the game will automatically determine projected draft range based on overall/position value so it'll just rank the best prospects at the top and worst at the bottom. I hope that EA had the foresight to allow the people making these classes the ability to set the draft range themselves, but skeptical me doesn't expect that to be the case.

So Madden can pull this off, legally, and allow the users to once again create and share custom draft classes. That means people will be creating real life players with their real names, schools, numbers, and perceived looks and attributes. So what is stopping them from releasing NCAA football again now???

They still have to get the individual schools and CDC to agree to a deal, and a lot of those schools are likely still afraid of lawsuits after what happened before. Even if their fears are baseless and they go with fully generic players (no likeness issues) there are still probably a lot of university higher-ups that would just rather not deal with it.

This has been debated many times on forms, but...
As long as the game ships/ sells without real college athletes and allows for the Users to customize and share draft classes for free, all is kosher.

although thats not what those who want to try to put down somehow the other footballs games about to come out, saying they cant let you make players editable. I find it funny how thats only argued against other football games other than madden , but i digress.

I still dont get the excitement for custom classes.

1- if your offline, and you make the class, wont you know players attributes exactly? Where is the fun in that draft ?

2- If your online or offline, and you download someone's are you just going to trust its good and wont be op compared to stock rosters without looking at it ?

3- If you answered no to #2 , then aren't you then going to have to look at it, and check players ratings , thus kinda ruining the excitement of seeing what you just drafted?

Im really confused how this is such a greatly asked for feature and what the real aspect it brings to the table . I myself commish an online league, and only play there, we wont be using this. I do not mind however they add something people will use and like , im just trying to wrap my head around how it works and is fun .
                  Yup, i said it !

This isn’t one of the feature I like however it was the most requested so I get it. Those who don’t want it hang in there, this is only one of a couple of the top requested features making it in this year.

Ryanmoody21 posted a vid about this. It's in his opinion(and mine) that madden put this back in since it's one of the selling points of axis football 18. Funny how such a little developer can 'motivate' such a huge corporate giant.

Its shows that competition matters, and that ea would have most likely held this heavily requested feature and would have used it as a selling point for a future madden if not for another developer putting it in their game.

It's not new either, remember when backbreaker came out with it's game built around it's physics engine, then suddenly madden 13 magically came out with it's infinity engine themselves?

Competition brings this out, and when there's no competition, we as consumers get as little as possible.

The only real thing I want to customize are the prospect’s name. Then for the game announcers to actually say the name within reason. I don’t even want to change player potential or attributes, that’s not too fun for me personally.

I’m excited for draft classes. Adds immersion to franchise for me. Good move.

It wasn’t driven by “competition” it was in fact driven by player polling, nothing more nothing less. This is kind of the “give the players what they want” madden. You will see more highly requested features during the roll out that’ll kind of paint the bigger picture.

Now you wouldn’t happen to have that poll somewhere? Would love to see what is on there! [emoji57]
