Re: Overhand abuse?
It's weird but the timing for evading the overhand isn't as easy as it was months ago .
Especially if it's paired with a jab .

Re: Overhand abuse?
pretty much the only option is to block it. Lead leg kick is always gonna be followed by an overhandComment

Re: Overhand abuse?
Stand your ground and throw an uppercut its risky but will cause big damage if times right. I know it's not the solution but that's how I deal with excessive overhand

Re: Overhand abuse?
Can anyone confirm if patch changes affected (directly or indirectly) the ability to avoid overhands with head movement. Is the timing just tighter? I had no trouble swaying out of the way before (usually towards the overhand side) but now I’m eating alot more of them.Stand your ground and throw an uppercut its risky but will cause big damage if times right. Re: Overhand abuse?
maybe has something to do with the footwork, I used to sway just like you said and it would work everytime but now it seems if they get a good angle the sway makes it rock you. Re: Overhand abuse?
You can duck under it with a straight ti the body then follow up with a lead hook to the head

Re: Overhand abuse?
it covers hilarious distance when combined with magnetic striking
my friend calls it a cheat code whenever we play together. He wants to throw a stepping roundhouse to the leg? naw fam i teleport overhand you and it costs no staminaComment

Re: Overhand abuse?
It's an annoying strike, I tend to get caught since I slip to the outside of my opponents power hand, but that actually is where the overhand lands.
Your best bets are to time it early, or use the advance back sway at the exact moment the overhand comes out, this is a little risky but if done correctly you will automatically avoid it.
Ducking with short fighters works too.Comment

Re: Overhand abuse?
I thought I was the only one experiencing this.
There has been a new style of using overhands.
I fought a person who literally only used overhands and such type strikes. They'll make themselves look amateurish but i am convinced there is thought behind it.
Then there are others that just abuse and exploit it.Comment

Re: Overhand abuse?
The overhand in this game is flat out terrible. Everybody throws it like JDS or Chuck Liddell. They really need to bring back some of the animations from EA UFC 2 for the overhands. Chad Mendes had an awesome looking looping overhand animation in EA UFC 2 (even though it was slow and useless in competitive play) Rumble also had a really good animation. Those two animations should be defaults for the majority of the roster, the current overhand should be exclusive to a few people like JDS or Chuck.
