Bringing Back the Sonics: 2K18 Expansion MyLeague

    Roster: OS_Kings Playoff Roster
    Sliders: Schnaidt's 2K18 Sliders
    MyLeague Settings: Schnaidt's
    Quarter Length: 12 Minutes
    Playoffs: 7-7-7-7

    Rundown and Setup
I like to do this any time I do a 2K MyLeague thread because I always do things a little out of the ordinary. So, for this MyLeague, here are my plans:

    - 30 Team Control: I will not be playing games for any team but the Virginia Beach Neptunes. However, this does allow me to set lineups and control things a little more and make them as realistic as possible for the other 31 teams.

    - Draft Classes: Right now I plan on using the following historic draft classes in this order: 2018, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1996. After that I will use a 2019 draft class and possibly a 2020 class if I can find one I like. So yes, there will be historic draft classes mixed into this MyLeague.

    - Game Play vs. Simulation: I am a father of a two year old and a newborn, which means I do not have the time or interest to play 60-80 full games each season. What I like to do is play, in full, 5-10 big games each season and then SimCast the first three quarters of most other games and then jumping in and playing the fourth quarter.

    - 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 Seasons: I will simulate the entire 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons. I want to get a point where I at least have a couple of players that are enjoyable to play with and build around. The first year or two my roster is going to be made up of mostly below-average players on 1-year contracts. I'm in full-blown tank mode and not ashamed of it.

[SIZE="5"]NBA Announces Expansion: Sonics Return, Pittsburgh is Christened

    June 1, 2016

It's official, 10 years after moving to Oklahoma City, the Seattle Supersonics are returning to the NBA. NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced today the official expansion of the National Basketball Association. Along with the return of the Sonics, the Pittsburgh Hammers will be joining the league.

The Sonics will be joining the Northwest Division in the Western Conference as the Oklahoma City Thunder slide over to the much more geographically appropriate Southwest Division. The Pittsburgh Hammers will join the Atlantic Division.

The expansion draft for the 2017-2018 season will be held on June 20th, 2017.

Hammers, Sonics Select Jordan and Hakeem 1-2 in the 2018 Draft

The 2017-2018 season wasn't a welcoming one for the league's two newest franchises. Fortunately for them, according to most scouts, this was a great year to land a top three pick. By most measures, this draft class featured at least two players who most scouts tagged as "can't miss" in Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan. Two players who seem like surefire cornerstone pieces. As one GM said, "Hakeem and Michael are sure fire bets. You get one of those two, then you have a surefire superstar to build around for the next decade."

The Seattle Supersonics finished with the league's worst record at 23-59 and the Pittsburgh Hammers finished with the league's third worst record at 28-54. That was good enough to land the Hammers with the number one overall pick and the Sonics the number two overall pick.

Rounding out the top five of the draft was Charles Barkely out of Auburn who was selected third overall by the Phoenix Suns, John Stockton out of Gonzaga who was selected by the reigning Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers who had the Sacramento Kings pick, and Sam Perkins out of North Carolina who was selected by the Detroit Pistons.
