They get the template, but its up to EA to be sure their design of the uniforms in the game matches it. I could be wrong but i think sometimes the NFL template doesnt even end up matching what they do in real life. The color rush uniforms seem to have thrown a few curveballs at EA. I know the chiefs socks were different in a real life color rush game, than what EA received as a template from the NFL. EA had it as the white socks with stripes and in real life the chiefs had all red socks with the color rush uni's. I could be mistaken though.
