The spinning kick
Really dont like how fast this comes out, you have guys like SP_the_ghost who's entire style revolves around throwing max holloway's insanely fast spinning kicks, this needs a reductionTags: None -
Re: The spinning kick
It’s slow enough to block in time. It might not be realistic, but it’s balanced. You don’t want people pull countering spinning heel kicks constantly.

Re: The spinning kick
If you combine it with the jab-leg kick it becomes a guessing game, it needs to be nerfed, nobody throws spinning kicks that fast except maybe barbozaComment

Re: The spinning kick
I’ll have to try this. I’ll come back in a tad.

Sometimes it’s ultra fast, sometimes it’s at a good speed.

Re: The spinning kick
I don't online much but I generally throw my spins nekked because I find they feel comically fast off a jab most of the time.
I think they're fine naked though.
With that said. I don't find them hard to avoid, if someone's spamming them on you, if you make them whiff a few they're going to be at a significant stamina disadvantage.
Though that's probably easier said than done if they're spamming 1-low 1-spin and mixing it up, the kicks will disrupt your lunge.
Though I've avoided them with the smaller backstep, too.
Though I do use Yair/Wonderbreads Lead leg side kick - Spinning Heel kick combo like a moooootherf**Ker.
Semi-unrelated but I freaking love landing the strafing or retreating variants of the spinning heel. Feels good.
So cheeky.Comment

Re: The spinning kick
Strike speed being combined is the issue
Max has fast hands and kicks in game because of itComment

Re: The spinning kick
This is is probably the biggest reason for fighters/moves/combos feeling off in this game.
Along with combined power.
God I wish something could be done during the games life cycle...Comment

Re: The spinning kick
the biggest issue i think is the combos. people throw extra strikes just so that the second strike will come out faster. The spinning kick is a great example of it. People don't throw it naked that often because of how slow it is alone. Many pawing jabs are thrown and then one of them has a second strike on it that is artificially sped up because a jab was thrown first. It feels very unrealistic and makes for huge shifts in speed between certain moves that just look way off.Comment

Re: The spinning kick
The kick itself is fine its just behind a jab its stupid fast.
Like most attacks tbh.Comment

Re: The spinning kick
This kind of a difficult issue. In real fighting, this kick can be quite difficult to see coming especially when thrown right after a jab or hook. In real life, when someone throws a jab or hook before the spinning heel kick, it disguises the motion. You can actually start doing the footwork for the kick at the same time you jab, so in a sense, the kick actually does come out quicker. The kick feels a lot quicker than it really is.
However, from our view on the side, the jab doesn't disguise the motion of the kick, so it loses some of its effectiveness. A slight speeding up seems reasonable to me to compensate.
I think it is very difficult in this game to replicate how deceptive this kick can be.
In fact, in my experience, it is easier to properly react to and block roundhouse kicks to the body than spinning heel kicks in real life.Comment

Re: The spinning kick
It's mostly about how the frames on combos weren't tuned as systematically as for single strikes. Do you guys think this kick is too fast when thrown naked?Comment

Re: The spinning kick
Wouldn't know. Who the hell throws it naked? That should tell you something right there.Comment

Re: The spinning kick
4 Me this and footwork are the biggest issue in the striking game... this arcade system of extra speed... and can be a lot faster if the players press the button fast...Comment
