PSA: You csn tell when you’re opponent is about to strike by their stamina meter...

I noticed yesterday that their stamina is actually taxed right BEFORE their strike is thrown.

For example, if you see their stamina go down by a big chunk, they are about to throw a sig/power strike like a headkick or overhand.

Please excuse my awful grammar and spelling im typing this in my phone in a rush lol

      🙄

It shouldn’t be like this period. Most people aren’t in division 6.

Yeah I do this a lot when I play certain people but you have to be quick. On Ranked I can't do this because I'm in Division 6 though.

            No there's no delay.

The stamina tax is applied on the first frame of the strike animation. But the animation blends in so the pose change is very small on the first frame.

            Nice try though.

Lol i tried. On a side note, i think i have found possibly one source of dropped inputs. Playing as tony ferguson i noticed sometimes when i would release R2 and throw a straight punch i would get the elbow instead, like i was still holding R2. if you were a fighter without an R2 move it would just do nothing probably. Are there recovery frames on block when you haven't blocked a strike? if there are should a strike queue and fire off asap? i would think if you haven't blocked a strike there should be no recovery frame, and very few unless you block some heavy strikes or block something that causes a major animation change.

also, i think maybe one way to make the online experience nicer would be to ease up on startup frames online, since we are already dealing with a bit of lag just playing online in general

Isnt this kind of further proof there is a lack, which the devs refuse to acknowledge...? Or have they now? I haven't been on here as much lately.

The lag and the constant phone booth fighting has had me away from the game since the last patch. Also, that elbow instead of the jab issue mentioned over kills me, esp since the elbow doesn't really do anything.

The fact the GPD still tries to deny it yet countless people still say they feel a input lag is comical at this point.Maybe they don't know how to fix it and think if they deny it that people will stop bringing it up

This has been happening to me a lot lately too. It never use to do that and I don't think I'm doing anything differently. Just since the last big patch or maybe the one before that. It's pretty annoying.

It’s because you guys don’t know what you’re talking about. Input lag is not a thing. Dropped inputs are very real though.

I guess anyone experiencing “input lag” or dropped inputs could be a result of online latency but I highly doubt it for the latter because it never happened before some of the latest patches. I suppose I can test that one offline to make sure.

i'm sure that some of the "input lag" is the startup frames not being realistic. they seem too punitive in some cases and when you combine that with the inherent lag of playing online it makes for a large delay between the button and the impact. the fact that you still see so many people throwing strikes out of range should be obvious there is a disconnect between the timing of your throws. I don't know who they mo-capped for the roundhouse kicks to the body but they look like Elias Theodoreau (slow and sloppy) Its just not very responsive. even at lighter weight classes it just doesn't react fast enough. Strikes come out fast once you start throwing but the initial startup is so unreliable.

One of the least reliable is body kick blocks/catches. I block so many that i just don't block until too late somehow, despite holding more than early enough.

Now on the topic of dropped inputs, its really getting bad sometimes. I played last night and it was good for about half an hour, and then i was having trouble throwing jab- leg kick reliably for several fights. i really hope this can be fixed. I could deal with most of the problems with this game if it just worked properly. When you lose fights where you have 50+missed/incorrect inputs you start to wonder just how many fights its costing. There is so much rage quitting going on in div 4 i have to think that this is part of why that is.
