The rookie wage scale and veteran salaries versus the cap is a much stronger pressure in real life than Madden, unless you're trading a lot
Also 90 man training camp rosters , practice squads and the playbook/ system knowledge and development opportunities for young players these bring have no real counterpart yet in Madden
Whilst PS have been added they mainly serve to retain youth , having little development value thus promoting a player from PS has no advantage over signing a vet 'off the street' the way it does in real life
Of the 500 or so players usually in FA on any Madden release only around 20 or so will ever play again in reality ( some eventually announce retirement but most just move on and are forgotten), whereas 200 or more UDFAs not included will go on to have some kind of future career
This causes year 1 of any franchise to be an anomaly, but CFM in future years does a reasonable job of duplicating turnover , if not always for the correct rationale, but it does strive to retain youth over age
A more realistic " out of the box" scenario would see us given 90 man training camp rosters and no more than 50 -100 players in FA , if that , but I'm sure many users wouldn't be happy with that either
