Let’s say the combo system was removed...
How would combination flow work? Obviously a 2 3 2 should be more flowy than a 2 2 6 or something like that, but with the combo system removed, wouldn’t it be the same?

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
Make common sense foot planting a thing so certain unrealistic combos can't be pulled off and bring back EA MMA's punch & kick combo speed ratings. -
Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
What your feet are doing doesn't change what you can and can't throw. It would be awkward to throw a 2-2-6 as a combo unless they are all single shots, which isn't too far off how I play Till.Comment

This is fantastic. I want to show GPD this in the Discord but people are super stingy about tagging him.Originally posted by AydinDubstepWithout the combo system, basically what the game could do is throw the punch when you press the button regardless of where your hand is.
So lets say you throw the 2 - 2 really fast.
The second 2 was perhaps thrown when the hand had only just started returning to his chin, so the damage done will be 10% or less than say if he threw the 2, waited for the hand to come back and regain his balance, then threw the 2 again.
So it would be a pepper combo.
Now lets say you throw the 2 - 2 slow.
The second 2 throws after the hand comes all the way back but with full power again.
That's how it could work.
Then for kicks, do it similar. If you don't throw it when the body is in the correct position, it'll come out but without full power.Comment

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
I think it should be based on move level
Level 1 strikes would come our soft combo tier
Level 2 would combo normally 3-5 could come out fast.
If you have fluidity perk it would increase striking speed for combosComment

Ah, so it's timing based? That sounds good.Originally posted by AydinDubstepWithout the combo system, basically what the game could do is throw the punch when you press the button regardless of where your hand is.

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
Um not against the combo system but the combo speed its what kills it, there shouldnt be extra speed, and worst extra speed for input... just fluidity like the low+Mid kick combo...Comment

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
I think the issue is that currently EVERY strike comes out extra fast.
I think the only thing that should determine strike speed would be the rating and your move level.
There are some guys who can throw generic combos like Cody Garbrandt and I think fluidity should represent that.
Also combos should take up more stamina not less imoComment

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
Every fighter has their own speed, the combo extra speed make every one have Mighty Mouse speed... i made a test in an open weight Match and button mashing combos can make a middleweight as fast as a lightweightI think the issue is that currently EVERY strike comes out extra fast.

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
Ohh in not referring to everyone keeping the current combo speed. I dont like the extra acceleration. Like I said very few fighters can throw combos like that.
Cody is one, Frankie is another, Max, Aldo
Usually the smaller guys.Comment

Re: Let’s say the combo system was removed...
Yes it does. You're not throwing back to back superman punches like in UFC 2 if they removed the combo system now and had footplanting in some form. It matters quite a bit, I'm not sure how you can dispute that.
You can call it footplanting system or an exclusion of moves you simply can't chain together as a combo, but we obviously need something so insane combos aren't applied if this combo system is taken out.
