It will probably still be in there along with the snatchback, there will be some other exploit, the double dribble glitch is still in the game after 2 years

If they did get rid of it or heavily tone it down, I wish they'd have an option for offline players to keep it how it was in 2K18. I played 18 way more than 17 because for me, the AI mirroring my input and brickwalling me almost every time in 17 got very old and wasn't fun.Comment

That's exactly how I feel. I was just saying how about this time last year. I stopped playing 17. I was shocked. Because I love playing this game. But your right I just couldn't take it anymore.

I think defending has to be more straight forward. You can't have a defensive button that can't stop an offensive move. It's not intuitive.
But agree this game needs it. Everyone is doing it in the league.

The snatchback is OP in 2k18 because it's not doing anything organic, it's just triggering an animation that you don't have a lot of control over as a defender. It would be different if it were over aggressive defense, but you can have the stick at neutral and your guy will still fly off the offensive player. The fact that it's a huge part of the offense in the 2k league says enough, they all just exploit that, left/right cheese, and have rim protectors stand under the rim for contact dunks, those are the 3 main cheese staples of the league.Comment

Hip ride animation doesn't need to be eliminated. There just needs to be an ability to counter it with well timed on ball d and/or help d. IRL hip ride animations exist throughout the NBA.
I'm gonna keep labbing the defense. Found this old video from DACzar. I hope it's still relevant. I think they have taken away some of the options that existed in this video though.

Thank you!! Learning to feather the stick is by far the most important thing to learn on defense. All a user is trying to do is get you to press full stuck in direction. Once you've figured out the small steps. It will be impossible to get by you consistently. Even on isolations.

In PRO AM you can green light the snatch back every time . Literally
I like the blow by and step back animations . They just need to be more organic and less canned (especially the snatch back). I'd bet money that most of the people who hate the blow-by animation are playing ballhandlers way tighter than they do IRL. You have to either give up the drive or the jumper. 99% of the time, you cannot deny both.
NBA ballhandlers are way too fast and explosive for a non-elite defender to consistently do anything except play them at an angle once they drive and try not to get totally dusted, unless the ballhandler's jumper is so broken that the defender can sag off significantly.
Help defense is the most important facet of defense, and there's a reason for it. If you're relying on one player to not let the ballhandler get past him, instead of defending as a team, you're doing it wrong.
No offense to anyone, but I was so happy when 2K finally made defenders pay for playing too close, and I really don't want them to change it back.Last edited by RyanFitzmagic; 07-17-2018, 11:52 PM.Comment
