Some internal testing game play video. That charge at 1:30 was EPIC

It uses the Squad engine so it should be pretty darn realistic but with a slower pacing.

        Re: Post Scriptum

I played for about an hour last night. Joining a random server, solo, I managed to get into a full Section with an active and knowledgeable SL.

I died a handful of times and maybe got 3 kills in that hour. But holy hell was that the most intense, immersive hour of a game I've ever played. The game certainly needs optimization etc, but it is just FUN.

Literally feels like playing a WWII movie. Something I've not experienced in any other game, ever.

        Definitely recommend.

Game is a lot of fun, even better with a good hard charging squad leader. Ive never had so many memorable moments in such a short while. Between Squad, Arma3, PS and Rising storm 2 this is the greatest time for PC war games right now.

Exactly, we also have Hell Let Loose and Battlefield V right around the corner too.

RS2 is super fun and I always enjoy the gameplay but I grow annoyed with how often strikes are coming in. It's exciting from a game perspective but becomes ear rape after an hour.

I think it's why I gravitated towards the more mild pacing shooters like, PUBG or Squad. Moments of planning mixed with plenty of dull running, only for explosive collisions to dynamically occur. I think PS will fall perfectly in that zone.

Now comes the next problem, how do we find time for all these awesome war games!

              Re: Post Scriptum

As a big Rising Storm and Insurgency fan, PS takes the cake as far as realism goes. I love the way those games play as far gunplay, but they're still spawn, run, die; rinse and repeat. I'm not a Squad vet (wish I'd gotten into it before!) so those who are, you know how it is already.

Like you said, the memorable moments are there. And unlike any other game, they're more prevalent in both in quality and quantity.

I'm really looking forward to when the casuals start heading out and the majority of matches are people who know how to andand want to play PS the right way, with the type of teamwork required to be successful. Sure, some things are still quirky, it is still a game after all, but the realism is top-notch.

I've played almost all weekend long and have had an absolute blast. Been making sure to get into active Sections with good SL's.

All that said, these matches are exhausting, but in a good way. I can't imagine how mentally drained SL's feel after an hour long battle or so.

That's funny you say that Greg, because I thought it looked like **** LOL! I know from running Squad on "epic" I get frames in the 30s and so I used a combination of medium and high to get frames in the 60s. Squad is badly optimized and I figured Post Scriptum would suffer from the same issues, so I just bumped it down from epic to the high setting. I find several of the textures are really bad, leaves, bushes, tree bark, etc could use a lot of work.

I'm running a Ryzen 1700 + EVGA 1070 Ti overclocked to 2025mhz and as you can see in the top left of the video, I'm getting an average of around 53 fps, min of low 40s, and high of mid 60s. To me that is piss poor optimization and severely hampers the player base when mid-level PC's (I5 / 1500x - 1060 / 580) will be pushing far below the 60fps minimum and more likely below the dreaded 30fps cut off mark.

I'd consider optimization extremely important. High level machines should be near the 120 to 140fps mark while your mid level PC's are sitting stable well above the 60fps mark. If they can accomplish this, then I have high hopes PS will maintain a player base even after the flood of AAA titles hitting soon.

I completely agree that the visuals and more importantly the optimization are the biggest detractors to this game. Should be their first priority going forward.

Could be some kind of placebo effect and the "looks better in videos than on my rig", that I get sometimes lol. And I couldn't really notice your fps so that does kind of make sense. I'm getting 60+ with a mix of settings too, but overall, and especially the textures, seems to look worse on my machine. It's probably comparable though, I'm also running a 1070ti but with the i5-8400.

I hit a nice little 3 piece the other day! I was proud with these shots, 3 shots, 3 KIA!
