Assuming archetypes are similar in 2k19, what you making?
Knowing what we know so far about the new "Takeover" feature, defense completely revamped, zig zag cheese seemingly gone, and weight looking like it will have a big impact.

6'11 PF (Because no one plays PF)
Primary: Post Scoring
Secondary: Sharpshooter
Pretty much Chris Bosh. Can do it all on offense, and the length at 6'11 will let me be effective on defense without having to focus on it. I may lose at rebounding, but in that case, I'll just box out and let one of my teammates get it, that way I'll still be in position to contest the offensive rebound if they don't get it.Comment

I’ll make every build I’ve dominated with in 18
6’10 Slashing Shot Creator SF
7’2 Sharpshooting Post Scorer C
6’6 Sharpshooting Playmaker PG
6’10 Pure Point Forward or a two way playerComment

PF is always my second build . But I tend to change my play style at this position every year .6'11 PF (Because no one plays PF)
Primary: Post Scoring
Secondary: Sharpshooter

I think I'm done making point guards. I do about 3-4 a year. Had a blast with my Center towards the end but have an idea of combining all my strengths into one character next year. My 6'8 sg slashing shot creator has been fun playing him up but he's still not maxed out yet so i can't really judge him.
I'd lean on an athletic 4 but I'm not sure i wanna go full athletic.Comment

PG- 6'7 Shot-Maker
SF- 6'10 Sharp-Shot or 2 way player
If our SG can get back to his old form and run PG the way that he did in NBA 2k17, I'll be using a 6'10 build. If not I'll be back at PG playing with a Shot-Maker. We were 120-16 with me at the Point so I doubt if the team agrees with the change but I wanna play off ball in NBA 2k19 just to switch it up.Comment

Re: Assuming archetypes are similar in 2k19, what you making?
I made 8 players in 2k18.
I think the #1 thing I've taken away from this year is that its best to wait until people have updated all the build calculators, to determine stuff like speed boost, contact dunks, tier 4 moves, etc, as well as which builds have key badges and attributes.
In addition it will take a few weeks I'm guessing to figure out if any new badges really matter/don't matter.
I don't want to fall into the boat of dedicating hundreds of hours to builds that ultimately don't work because they are 1 point short of some key ability like speed boost.Comment

Re: Assuming archetypes are similar in 2k19, what you making?
Until I know the changes made for arche types, its too early for me to choose the builds. But I have an idea of type of players. I made a center this year and won't do the same. If I do a big man it will be a PF.
PG for either Suns or Magic. Both teams have big needs at PG. But different types. If I could do Sun's, I would do a Defensive Playmaker. A John Wall type since they have scorers and 3pt weapons. A 6'4 guy that can defend SGs. For the Magic, I would do a scorer playmaker. They have a big athletic defensive team. They would need a scorer and some one for PNR situations.Comment

Re: Assuming archetypes are similar in 2k19, what you making?
I don't even wanna get into how many players and builds plus money I put into this game. Trying to figure out my pro am builds and all that...
If it's similar, I'm gonna stick with my 6'10 sharpshooting shot creator. I won't lie tho, the animation glitch makes him playable to me...so I don't know if thats a day 1 build.
I'm always a tall scorer, like KD ...so it's gonna be a SF that can kinda play 2, 3 or 4.
It's always a safe bet to make your first build something safe..like a sharp or slasher..something simple that'll always have a place in the game.

I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Making a PG for sure this year, may do a playmaking slasher or playmaking shot creator. Some combo of those builds and go to the Raptors now that they have Kawhi or the Nuggets (love their new jerseys). Could make a SG and go Toronto too and be a shot creating slasher.
Might also make a SF and come home to the Rockets in some kind of shooting build. PG always come first though.Comment
