Random NBA 2K19 Details From Mike Wang

Random 2K19 info: If you have a trailing defender, holding LT/L2 will trigger a "hold off," which is a Chris Paul like crab dribble that will allow you to seal the defender behind you for a bit... great for cutting defenders off and opening up a driving lane to the rim. Enjoy.

One more nugget for today: You can branch to dunks from euro, cradle, hop step, and spin gathers. Just kick off one of those layup types and keep RT/R2 held. Kinda tough to pull off but a very cool addition for elite slashers. [emoji109]

Forgot to mention yesterday... you can also branch to floaters from euros, cradles, hop steps and spins. Can't forget about the little guys.

It’s the little things that to me equal the BIG things! This is a great addition to the PNR game and for realism! Can’t wait to dive into this... Add to this it sounds like the heavily contested shots from defenders behind you are gone now which will really open The PNR game up even more. Let me here those pocket passes are a legitimate option in the PNR game and I’ll pre order right now! Not like I’m not going to anyways who am I fooling?! Lol

I like this addition as a PG. Just hope it was implemented well. I have a feeling it’ll need to be patched from being abused. Maybe on a fast break or something the offensive player will use the seal off and then go up with a layup or standing dunk.

I used to do that all the time when I played. Cut in front of the defender on a break to keep him behind me. You see that all the time. I even teach it to my players every year. Same go’s for a teammate cutting off a guy to make a clear path for ball handler if possible. It’s the little things...

Looks like they trying they best to make stick game mandatory this year...

If the defense is tighter this year we'll def need more moves like this for seperation instead of just regular dribble moves..

especially with no zig zag or blow by..

          sounding good though

Yeah, I’ve been wondering why this move wasn’t in years ago when watching some PGs do it, mainly CP. my only concern is it’ll be a way to abuse it for awhile.

Chris Paul like crab dribble or Lebron like crab dribble? cuz the latter is a journey...

Yeah. I could see it lol. First thing that came to my mind was this is Point God stuff. But then I was like, “nice things like this online will get abused easily. Hopefully, they implemented this right.”

We’ll see though. Hopefully, it’s good money and the bounce passes and flashy passes is actually good like 2K15s was.

There are defensive counters though. You can switch all screens, go under all screens, hard hedge and go over, or soft hedge to counter against it. This would only be a factor to teams who are in ice, going over on screens, or catch hedging.

Pretty much my sentiments exactly. It's a nice little addition though.

Maybe it could be something similar to what FIFA does, where when you hold L2/LT, the ball-handler shields the ball from the defender regardless of what angle the defender is at. Like in FIFA, doing this might cause your player to turn 180 degrees to stick his butt into the defender, and if the defender tries to go around, your player will turn with the defender to continue shielding the ball. Maybe something like that could work in 2K rather than your player just getting into a back down position pretty much.
As you can probably tell, I'm ****ing thrilled to hear something similar is in the game this year.

Spammers are going to hate this. I can shield the ball and wait for the pick to develop?

                              This is a great addition.
