Graphics look great but I am getting concerned with all the 4k PC captures looking like 30fps and not nearly as smooth as the PS4 and Xbox One X captures. Perhaps it's the capture method but Youtube says 4k60fps....

Obviously I am rooting for the PC but I expect it to be as smooth as the Xbox One X or I am not going to be happy.

I see what you mean but that's likely the encoding. I have had no issue with high FPS buttery smooth play of FIFA 18 so unless there's a bug in Madden it should run with the same buttery smooth aplomb.

What's interesting is that with EA's UFC 3, people have noticed that the game runs smoother and is more responsive on the Xbox One X than it is on the PS4 Pro. So not only does it look better, but it plays better on the X as well. Wonder if this will be the case with Madden, too. It makes sense though, as the X has the more powerful hardware.

I believe people who played it on both consoles last year confirmed that the game ran smoother on the X, but the part about responsiveness is interesting.

1:40 the guard looks at the blitzer but blocks someone else further away giving up the sack. Classic Madden.

I didn't like the first touchdown. Love the catch animation, but the way the defender just got run over without slowing the receiver down or stumbling was ridiculous.

Pre-determined game play still relevant. When Trubisky throws in triple coverage with no pass rush after him. Helping the Human player to be in scoring range right before half. Bothers me still. But oh well.

Video notes and opinions:
First touchdown, allen Robinson beast double coverage. Logically he did a over the shoulder basket catch leaning towards sideline. Taking contact from rear and side (alpha contact based on speed n momentum) but some how alpha gets trumped by rear defender animation with wr and becomes rag doll.

Unrealistic. Allen Robinson doesn't even stumble or break stride.. One word : Maddenball. Gotta get things like that removed.

1:40 - the blitz pick up baffle. I actually like this. Because yes he looks at Eddie Jackson and then peels back to inside threat (trevethan?) Blocks him.
Unless that guard has 94+ aware and pass block I see no issue.

Block assignments are missed every game and every possession. I did like how for once he didn't look like a complete dummy running astray or facing air.

-fournette runs were positive and looked good.

- Drags ... I wonder what the catch is.. Something is not being accounted for.

- regardless I love NFL and what not so m19 is pre order but I'll be breaking the game open via editor

This was the first thing i saw here too. That safety comes over running wide open, most safeties in this situation would lay the wood on that wr. This safety just steps over in front of him. While AJ is pulling on the wrs jersey , and clearly pulling back on wr, the wr just runs over the safety and there is literally NO effect in any momentum by this wr .The only thing at all even slowing the wr is a guy pulling on his jersey. But a guy running in on him at full speed....nothing .


Yet RPM ..... right .....

yup was about to post that. And sure , if it only happens rarely for him to do that, its ok . Even great players miss stuff. But if its found out after launch , this is more an issue just because 5 men are rushing and it happens often even to a guy with that high ratings in sim mode ( where ratings are supposed to matter) ..... thats a problem

The offensive side of the ball seems the same as the last several years. WRs get open easily, your blockers are braindead, and QBs are too accurate. Thankfully, two of the three were fixable via sliders last year.

The CPU offense doesn't seem much better than last year in this clip, though maybe that's a reflection of Trubisky's ratings. As ridiculous as the YAC was on the A-Rob TD, it was nice to see the CPU audible and be aggressive with a shot downfield. I saw it in 18 but not often enough. That INT into triple coverage was awful though.

It seems like all we're getting this year is improved CPU QB AI (hopefully), better playcalling, and RPM. I hope pass defense is tighter but the jury is still out on that IMO. Passing was far too easy in this clip.
