Madden NFL 19 Impressions (Pre-Release / EA Access / Origin Access)

It looks like a few people have the game based on the where / when thread, so I'm going to go ahead and start this up with a couple changes this year.

This thread will contain impressions given by posters confirmed to have acquired a copy of Madden NFL 19 prior to the game's official launch. You'll notice it's closed at the moment. We will not open this thread until one of the following occurs:

A - a user PMs a moderator confirming he has the game (feel free to PM me), or
B - the game releases on EA Access and Origin Access on August 2

If A comes first, only confirmed posters may post in this thread. Other posts will be deleted. If B comes first, any poster who plays the game on EA Access / Origin Access may post here.

Since games nowadays may change dramatically over time, this thread will closed permanently when the first significant title update releases. A new impressions thread will be created at that time.

Game plays very well on ps4 pro. Graphically it’s amazing. Love that they let you get four td celebrations with the right analog stick. It prompts you and you pick. Nice surprise for the third commentator wresting fans will appreciate it. Long passing still seems hard maybe I’m doing something wrong. Commentary still on point one of the best.

Started franchise so the halftime show is fun it reminds me of the good ol 2k Days with Chris berman the not so good part for those that play exhibition there’s nothing it goes straight to 3rd quarter. I’m playing on sim all pro. Going to play another exhibition to see if there something. Draft class is dope when it time to scout they ask you if you want to import or auto generate.

1st impression out of the gate, love the new franchise screen with Chiefs Coach Reid in his office looking at his phone and surface pro 4, but where are the cartons of old Chinese, empty plates of Gates BBQ, and candy bar wrappers. Cmon Ea. ;-)

Looks fantastic on PC. Doesn't seem to be optimized as well as FIFA though (I'd imagine they'll take care of that). This is my first Madden game since 2008 and it's impressive.

QB sneaks work this year, small but big fix.

simming weeks in franchise is certainly far far faster than 18 on ps4, not even using an ssd for madden

The graphics and HDR for this game on the Xbox One X is some of the best I've seen on any platform (PC/Xbox/PS4.)

Gameplay is probably the best it has ever been in Madden. Man coverage is drastically improved and is actually challenging to pass against. Zone coverage seems to be a bit improved from the beta build.

Stripes sock length still hasn’t been fixed, this should of been done in madden 17 and presentation still is lacking in franchise mode but gameplay seems to run smooth.

Origin Access Premier here, liking the game so far, feels more real to the game, runs smoothly, love the new added depth chart spots like SCB, SWR, Rush End, Sub LB, etc.... A great addition, definitely fun and great to have Madden back on PC, missed it the last 10+ years.

Overall, a great improvement from Madden 18, the celebrations in the endzone are so cool, did a team one with the 49ers after breaking a long TD run with Jerick McKinnon. The way the players move, it doesn't seem like they're blocks of cement anymore, maybe that's not the best way to describe how they were last year, but they move more real like.

PC Origin Premier here...game supports ultrawide except for the main menus. That's fine since the main game is whats important. I have a 1080ti with a Gsync monitor and you can see a bit of hitch if you have everything maxed out. Once I put the framerate to auto it smoothed out for me. Still could use some optimization. I just love that it's back on PC and I will be spending some time messing with this game.

I haven't really played Madden for a long time so everything is new to me. I just played a preseason game with the Giants against the Browns. Not sure if this was in past games but I noticed that the game progressed with day night cycle? I'm pretty sure the game I played was a 400 pm game and it got dark and the field looked like it was lit up by the stadium lights. That's pretty impressive...

EA Access version-Played about 30 minutes in practice mode on All-Pro. All aspects of movement with RPM already feel completely intuitive to me. How I've always played the game seems to fit perfectly with what they're doing gameplay wise now. Will play a full game later to get a better sense of things.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
