There is no boundary awareness in this game

Have played for almost 40 hours and have not seen a single toe drag or even a player stop near the boundaries, they just keep running through them. How was this overlooked!?!?

This has been a problem of the past. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the CPU pass a ball into the flats and the receiver do a possession catch on the sideline and fall out of bounds for no gain, or a user trying to catch and turn up the sidelines only to run out of bounds. It wasn’t as bad last year as previous years, but still an odd issue to be having in 2018 imo.

Hold the "A" button once the ball is in the air to do a possession catch.

Timing is typically critical if you want a shot at RAC on throws toward the boundary. If it weren't this way you could easily abuse the AI the entire game by doing nothing but sending routes to both flats. Unless they happened to call C2 or C3 hard flat they won't both get covered.

By forcing the user to commit to the throw a bit sooner things like seam flats and curl flats can at least muddy the read long enough to prevent this.

I have seen some players show it, but they were higher rated players. So it is in the game, just only higher rated players actually do it, which everybody should do it.

I get better animations along the side lines when I let CPU make the catch and turn up field or toe tap.. Try that out.
There's some beautiful animations.

Nope never happened in my games. At least 30 played with a 92 possesion wr. Nada. Not once a toe tap or drag. Every single cpu player acts as if the huge white boundary isn’t there.

I did some extensive out-route throws to Antonio Brown and he never once tried to drag/tap his toes. He just caught the ball out of bounds. I'm not sure if that's because I was doing it in practice, but it was disturbing to watch over and over again.

I'm with you. I haven't seen it either, thus rendering out routes useless. The bigger question is how does this even happen. Last year (or maybe the year before, can't remember) it was part of a blog: they congratulated themselves on how receivers are aware of the sidelines. The game was played during E3... surely SOMEONE pointed this out, yet this was not a big enough issue for EA to address.

It just blows me away.

Cpu is extremely bad at this to the point where you can say about 4-5 times a game it happens and ruins a drive, or the game for them because they don't get what they need.

Traits check your possession receivers traits. Making : sideline catches is a trait.

I've had my WR's (with the CPU controlling) do it and I have seen the CPU do it but it's not where it should be, EA needs to make it happen more often like it happens in real life.

Yeah I thought it was maybe just my WR's with this issue because of traits, it happens a lot in the back of the endzone for me. I would make a good throw and my WR would just run out of bounds without getting either foot in bounds.

Brother I'm questioning your experience with this game. In another thread, you couldn't even run the ball on Rookie. Here you're saying you get nothing. I'm seriously questioning how you're playing the game.
