    Lighting Patch?

Has this been talked about by any of the devs? I stopped playing the EA Access trial because of how bad the lighting issues are. First time i've ever not played the full 10 hours and i didn't even play 4 because of these issues. I was hoping to see something about it in the patch notes, but nope. You guys heard anything?

There's no patch needed. The game looks beautiful as it is. There's no need to ruin it like they've ruined gameplay in years past due to the competitive crowd.

Give people some additional HDR or brightness settings if they need it, but leave the overall look of the game alone.

For Xbox One I concur...for PC it still looks a bit dark in certain areas of the game so I don't know, may agree with the OP on that one but consoles seem good from what I'm seeing..

Its a big assortment of things when it comes to lighting that makes a patch fix kind of hard to do, because some games look amazing depending on the time or location, some games look to dark at times, some games look to bright at times, and some games look dark but the cutscenes look bright, all in all I feel its an art direction more so then something they need to fix and this is coming from a guy that isn't a big fan of this years lighting.

I agree with this. I just don't like the art direction this year. I doubt anything gets changed or patched.

There is definitely a lighting issue that needs to be addressed. I know it has been discussed in multiple threads, but it is an issue with the game and not anyone's TV settings. I was hesitant to just turn off HDR, but I tried it out yesterday and the difference is huge. I highly recommend turning off HDR in the console settings for anyone who is disappointed in the look of the game. It immediately looked fantastic.

I will keep hoping that they can implement a fix to make HDR a viable option for everyone at some point in the near future, but this will do for now.

              2 questions for you:

1 what do you mean turn off HDR, how did you do it?

2 what tv set are you rocking?

I'm playing on Xbox. I have a Ps4 Pro also and believe there is a setting in a similar location. In the system settings, under visual options, you can uncheck the box that enables HDR output.

There is still a ton of shadow detail and plenty of saturation.

I am playing on a regular HD TV and feel the lighting is actually ok and an improvement from the beta. Sometimes 1pm lighting looks too much like 4 pm lighting. There may be something to look into there, but I think it's ok.

I've seen people on consoles complaining as well.

Are you able to take HDR screenshots from PC? I know you can do so on the Xbox One X. Don't think it's possible on the PS4 Pro.

I think it would be interesting for those with issues to take HDR screenshots and share them here with the rest of us. Those of us without any issues can do the same. Then we can save one another's images on an external drive and view them directly on our own systems. That way, if the issue is not encountered, then we can safely rule out the possibility of the game being the issue.

This would have to be done by Xbox One X users only, and maybe PC players as well if they can take HDR screenshots.

Alright, something is definately going on with the lighting. I played about 5 games last night and it was beautiful. The grass texture, logos on helmets, ect all popped.

Fired up the game this morning and its all gone. Now it looks like a muddy picture without any of the sun shine popping off the uniforms and field. I double checked and made sure I was at 1PM, clear sky and there is not a single ray of sunshine anywhere to be found

WTF happened it was perfect last night

What system are you on? I've experienced this on PC but I believe it has to do with the HDR not always kicking on right with my Samsung TV. I have recorded gameplay from my PC when HDR is working and when I play back the Mp4 files it looks all washed out since it doesn't record the HDR or cannot play it back right. One way or another the recorded files are missing color and contrast that was there during the gameplay.
