What have you done with the new specialized positions?
Subbing safeties in at linebacker? Putting RBs at slot receiver? Who are your specialized players?

I'm going to be putting Jabrill Peppers down as the nickel corner in my Nickel Double A Gap Pressures to use his hit power on corner blitz.Comment

Morgan Burnett is money backer. Getting first round safety Edmunds on the field in sub packages. Also gives me box match ups I likeComment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
I have a question about these:
The Rush DE makes sense for me for the 43 teams. For 34 teams, the sub would be on the interior of the line, though, right, rather than one of the edge positions? I'm wanting to make sure when I set these up for the CPU that I don't put a rush 34 DE in there and have him show up as an edge guy.
I love the ideas about S as money backers. I'll probably do that with Karl Joseph to keep him near the LOS.Comment

So far I've been toying with moving Kindred/Peppers into the box a bit. (Especially blitzing them in unexpected situations) I've also toyed around with putting Ogbah inside at DT & putting the rookie Chad Thomas in at DE. Landry plays in the slot for me and a speedy wr comes in when that happens.Comment

For 3-4 it basically throws all your positions out of the picture. Your rush ends are now your DEs/OLBs. Rush DT are your two interior lineman. SubLB is your two LB off the line of scrimmage.I have a question about these:

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
OK, so when I'm setting up these rush subs for a 34 team, I'm going to want to use the Rush End sub to put the best pass rushing OLBs out there and the rush DT position to put the best pass rushing interior 34 DL out there?
That makes sense, if I have that correct.Comment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
That is correct.
As an example for the Bears I have Hicks and Goldman as rushDT. Floyd and lynch as rushDE. And Trevethan and Smith as the SUBLB.Comment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
So, you can move you're ends to tackle and pass rush olb to end. The problem is that they come in on 1st and ten. I am thinking through formation subs it is going to be necessary to have a couple formations where you do not want to bring in pass rushers.Comment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
Balancing carries between 3/4 running backs is way easier. Id rather use specialized positions than formation subs for that.My Teams:
Buffalo Bills
NY Yankees
Charlotte Hornets
Syracuse OrangeComment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
Can WR's play in one of the RB spots yet? They could be 3DRB last gen. Also sounds like S can be sub LB which I'm all for. Nice to see there is a logic behind the rush ends in a 3-4. What determines when they come in? Formation?down and distance?NFL:New England Patriots
NBA:Boston Celtics
MLB:Boston Red Sox
NHL:Boston Bruins
NCAA:Boston College EaglesComment

Re: What have you done with the new specialized positions?
From what I've seen so far, defensive subs are based almost exclusively on formation.
Offense is a little looser, and I think it might be influenced more by fatigue. I've had my 3RDRB line up on 1st and 10 for a zone out of shotgun, but had my primary back line up for the same play and formation on 2nd and 8.Comment
