    Default All-Madden

Is anyone else having a really hard time on default All-Madden? I can barely run the ball at all (I'm not holding turbo). My receivers don't come open and defense is atrocious. My dbs just don't break on the ball and give up approximately 400 yards passing game. Can anyone please let me know how to do better? I'm afraid to go down to All-Pro. It feels like cheating and I'll probably be guaranteed to do no worse than 10-6 every year in franchise

Well if you read the latest EA blog, they clearly stated they made All Madden and All Pro sort of completely USER Controlled. This was by design. The EA competitive players wanted it that way. All Madden this year will purely be based off USER SKILL and USER KNOWLEDGE of real life football. So one really have to hunker down in All Madden this year, use hot route adjustments, coach adjustments, etc.

I can’t do all madden either. Honestly I don’t think many people can on default. You need a good slider set. I prefer matt10’s (i think that’s his user name on here) in the slider forum. Very realistic and fun games. They’ve also done extensive testing.

All-Madden difficulty cheats users. That’s not a complaint, it just is what it is. DBs get dragged away from assignments. Blocking assignments are blown, causing glitchy animations/physics.

It’s like the game breaks itself to make things harder on the user. Just my experience. But there are some great sliders to use that keeps the game in balance, yet difficult.

I can't find a good balance, even with slider tweaks so far. All Pro is way to easy and All Madden is too hard. I'm continually trying to tweak right now

I have no trouble with Default All Madden.
I play the Ravens, won the first game against the Bills by controlling the game, lost the second game against the Bengals 27:24, fault on my side as I chose two weird passes which led to an Int. So the loss was ok.

So all in all I cannot complain, Lamar Jackson leads the league in passing yards and rushing TD`s.

              I play Madden since 2000

I'm in the process of learning All Madden. It's a challenge this year for sure. You have to be willing to assume user control of basically everything, you have to be able to read defenses pre-snap (both with respect to blitz looks and coverages), and you have to really know the gameplay mechanics of Madden inside and out.

So far I've had mixed results. Just this evening, playing as the Cowboys, I blew out the Titans 32-3 with no turnovers, and the immediately subsequent game I got humbled by the Saints as they took four interceptions from me. Marshon Lattimore is obviously an eraser, but it was Patrick Robinson defending the slot who was a pain in the ***. Neither Cole Beasley nor Allen Hurns could get away from him. Didn't have those issues against Tennessee.

Admittedly I'm not playing on default sliders. I've been adjusting the CPU sliders as I go along to find some in-between difficulty that I'm comfortable playing. In particular, I've nerfed the CPU passing offense sliders significantly at the moment because my first game on All-Madden I got carved up by C.J. Beathard and I wasn't happy about that lol.

The league I am in has played on All Madden for years so I am pretty used to it at this point. Really what it comes down to is making pre snap reads then having checks for those reads post snap to confirm what you saw pre snap. I tend to roll my eyes post snap to the safety then to my main read. using slide protections and keeping a back in is important if you are taking deeper shots down the field. I'd also recommend getting some practice sliding up into the pocket, if you drop past your tackles (like many do) the ends basically get a free release.

As for running I really don't have too many issues here this year after a day or two tinkering. There are reads to running similar to passing as far as knowing the designed hole to run through and then understanding when to bounce it outside and when to cut backside. Sometimes nothing is open and the best you can get is to put your head down and get a couple years pushing the pile.

I use charter04's sliders for all madden, they are pretty good.

I do quite well with all madden default sliders as I only ever play with default sliders. I have found in my experience this year that roster moves for your particular play style is extremely important. What I mean is that in years past certain positions tended to be overlooked or one stat may have had such an impact that the other stats didn’t much matter. This year in my experience that’s not the case.

In my cfm’s ive played if my team had a glaring weakness such as a weak Oline or Dline just as an example it seemed to come out and bite me in 16 game season. Once I started balancing my teams better I’ve had the greatest experience in madden vs cpu in cfm as I’ve ever had.

Thank you everyone for all the great advice! It's just taking a little time to adjust to the consequences of RPM across the game for me. I love the new system but it takes some getting used to, especially in the passing game. This is all great and I'm having a really good time with Madden this year

It’s tough this year for sure. Give Charter’s sliders a shot on the sliders forum, I played a couple games with them last night and they were pretty good. He has run blocking bumped up to 60 for the user which helps.

Still though, I agree with you, I cannot get my defenders to break on balls in the air to save my life. Game needs a tuning update soon.

It's my opinion that on User vs User default All-Madden the CPU controlled players don't get that extra boost that they get when it's User vs CPU default All-Madden. When I watch videos of two Users playing All-Madden I don't see the same amount of insta-sheds in the run game and any super human DBs and LBs in coverage.

That is why IMO, for User vs CPU AM games slider tweaks are necessary to get a realistic challenge as opposed to one that is tuned to be artificially difficult. Even though there will probably always be some shenanigans going on on AM, I don't think that I can ever go back to AP because I really love not having the hat box or the kick arc present, as well as all the other helpers being gone on AM too.
