Has anyone found a good speed threshold?

So it seems in every post of sliders people have different speed thresholds set, some at 0, some at 25, others around the 50 mark. So my question is which one seems to fit best?

Especially for normal game speed because I know game speed matters

0 is reality. Fast is fast and slow is slow. Speed threshold is only to adjust what’s considered fast and slow.

each set likes the threshold that they are using. try them.

Other way around. 100 is the correct difference between fast and slow. 0 is way exaggerated.

At 0, slower players run 7-8 second 40s. The slowest in combine history is like 6.0.
There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

I concur as well with your statement sir. Of all the speed parities that I’ve used, 100 is the closest to actual game speed. The NFL is called a game of inches for a reason. There isn’t that much separation in the current league because every player is fast in their own right. With it set to 100, guys like John Ross will still burn slower players but not at an exaggerated rate.

I think around 40 to 45 is the sweet spot imo. Gives good separation. Zero doesnt really work well in Madden because at times the game will slow your corner down & safeties for a split second & its lights out. Your guy is never going to catch the receiver, because the game for whatever reason decides to make your guy run slower or jog for no apparent reason. At 100 ive seen the Defensive ends play way unrealistic on the edges, especially stretch plays. I think at 100 it destroys the whole point of RPM. Just my .02 cents.

                Allpro + arcade + Veryfast + 0 speed threshold + 27 CPU tackle + 65 User P/R Block = Exactly what you'd hope for

P.S. LEARN to play on broadcast view, running is easy and BEAUTIFUL in this view. The key to passing is this: like in real life, 80% of the time teams are targeting 5-20 yrds per pass, all you have to do for the deep pass is WAIT for the defense to play man coverage. The key to man coverage is to keep an eye on both safeties, when one safety is lined up inside the box (near the LBs) and the other is solo this is a BIG hint that the D is running man, however they also bluff man coverage just like in real life. Once you see man coverage and your WR has one on one, just let it fly and it will come down to a true WR vs CB battle. Broadcast is simply the best way to play, make you think your playing a different football game.

Yep and you guys that have your thresh at 100 will be trying to sell that story for the rest of your lives lmao. Bottom line is guys are using flawed logic and think they can apply 40 times to gameplay not realizing that there are factors like Agility and Acceleration that are not properly implemented in Madden which makes the 100 threshold completely unrealistic.

0 Threshold is the only way to play and has been for quite some time, I don't see Desean Jackson getting caught from behind by linebackers on Sunday and it happens quite a lot on 100 Threshold....

I think 50 is where it should be. I think if your thinking about just running a straight line , maybe you can say 100 this, 25 that or 0 this. But the reality is ALL the animations feed off that threshold . So if it is too high or too low, you’ll get animations that seem out of sync on running, passing and tackling animations. I think a game speed of normal and a speed parity of 50 are a must. Adjusting sliders can taylor the game to your liking , but even with that comes repercussions.

I’m not trying to sell anything. I was agreeing with someone on his opinion, which is clearly what people are entitled to. People should use whatever is comfortable to them because I will continue to do so.

See my user thread for some actual timed 40 time tests and how they benchmark vs the actual spread between say an avg WR and avg OL irl.

Mine is currently at 45, but I haven't really sunk deep into changing all the sliders just yet. I want fast players to not get caught in the open field, but I don't an arcadey nfl blitz type of feeling where speed is the only rating that matters. So my goal is the find the right balance.

The average speed threshold for all of the major slider sets on this site is 33. Don't listen to anybody that tells you to go too far in either direction though, using 0 or 100 is a clear indication that they haven't taken the proper time necessary to really test out a threshold.

My personal opinion is that somewhere around 40-45 is the best range, and the average is dragged down by lazy slider makers who just put it at 0. There is only one slider set that has raised the slider, and that's only to 55 the last time I updated the averages.
