    Arcade mode effect on Sliders

Been running with various sets of sliders using All Pro and Sim mode. Have been seeing all the same issues everyone is already familiar with.

Anyway, decided to select Arcade just to see what the difference was. I do play Coach mode and/or cpu vs cpu and I did see new animations and a bit of a wider open game. Many times using Sim I would go to the half with scores like 9-6 or 10-3. Using arcade seems to open up the field and animations and actually looks more like what I see on Sundays.

Going to play a few more games on it, and am currently running with a slightly modified version of Matt's V14 sliders.

    Just FYI...

OMG...I just stumbled upon this two days ago. I couldn't agree more. The animations are so much better. The backs run strong, making great cuts and spins, they actually lower their heads and run over defenders, much better tackling. Just need some good sliders to compliment the good football being played. Especially toning down the QB completions. Would be nice to see a few penalties. Overall, much more fun to play!

I put arcade at intro screen when you choose a team per Tommy's suggestion in m18 and wow what a difference. Put Sim in play now/cfm and you will see injury's and penaltys !

I am half way thru the first game testing on ARCADE mode and it is an improvement. Great find.

Re: Arcade mode effect on Sliders

There was hope last year as well that perhaps either Arcade or Competition would provide a better experience. There were issues with both that ultimately drove folks back to Sim. It may very well be that way again this year, hopefully, somehow it’s not.

I’ve been trying out Arcade lately, applying JoshC’s setup. Playing a number of games with different teams, there is a lot to really like. There are, however, some glaring issues.

          - Running, both CPU & HUM can be hit or miss. I’ve had games where it was a real struggle for me to run. I’ve had games where my HB averaged around 3/carry. Some games I’ve been up around 5/carry. A lot has to do with the OL. CPU could be stronger here.
          - At times the pass rush is way to weak and both myself and the CPU can sit and wait for receivers to come open.
          - In all the games not 1 injury!
          - Penalties have been there, only offsides, false start & the occasional holding. 3-5/ game total.
          - Way too many broken tackles. Even QBs run thru tackles like M. Lynch.
          - HUM passing is too easy. I’m usually at 80% or higher. Not a lot of knockouts. CPU passing is about right. QB rating is key.

Games have been fun, with some really great wow moments, but perhaps a little one sided to the HUM.

When I play D, I play either LB, S or DB. I’m thinking of trying Arcade on AM. I don’t favor slider edits as I believe it just opens Pandora’s Box. I used JoshC’s setup precisely, except when the game started up I selected Arcade initially and in CFM. Also, went with base roster and no trait edits.

I tried arcade last yr and it played pretty well, but I haven't this yr. I feel like I have my sliders at a good base to move forward on sim mode & see no reason to hop down the arcade rabbit hole. I do appreciate arcade mode for what it is. I call it the all out effort mode & not so much the cheesy over the top mode. I may take a look at it possibly.

I think with the right slider tweaks any mode is playable. If your going strictly default sliders more power to you, but It never seems to work. I dont think there has been any Madden that has been playable OOTB in my opinion with purely default setup. The game is made for head to head imo which makes slider adjusting necessary for cpu vs user. I may take a look at it.

Im using MarketingWiz Sliders that is on arcade mode all pro. Most games is a uphill battle i just lost to the bills 16-9. Shady Mccoy had 19 ATT For 92 yards. Running backs would typically churn their legs to get extra yards and would spin and juke accordingly. You gotta respect em or you will get burned. And it true in arcade CPU QB's are more aggressive and would throw deep bombs 2-3 times a game. Josh Allen had a nice 50 yard bomb to Jeremy kerley just over my cornerback for a 1 hand grab. I like the animations that arcade mode brings. I feel like the madden traits work better in arcade mode rather in sim. Realistic stats during the season the team i'm playing the bears are mostly middle of the pack in mostly every category as they should be realistically givin that some of my playmakers Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel are injured. The only thing lacking is the number of penalties. I played enough games that i can say i'm set for the rest of the season.

I will have a screen shot of stats from first game of CPU vs CPU testing. I am really liking and just like you said I have seen some things I haven't seen before. I am testing with My Roster & Sliders, just like I was on Simulation Mode.

Hey Capa. If you come up with a new version of cpu vs cpu or coach mode sliders based on this I'd be interested to see. With using Matt's V14 sliders are you using his cpu settings exactly or tweaking them-thanks.

This is played on 10 minute quarters with my Sliders & Roster. I have to say so far I am really enjoying the switch from Simulation to Arcade. Also this is CPU vs CPU testing.

Any updates on this? I am thinking of switching from sim to arcade just to start having some fun with this game again. It's too rigid and not what I see in the real nfl. Want to have the game a little more wide open and explosive but also have some elements that are simulation style as well. Looking forward to any input. Thanks.
