ESPN Camera angle / overall presentation

really want to give EA credit for their 'ESPN camera angle' for 2019. First time playing Live in probably over a decade, and the overall presentation is the best I've seen in any sports game. Not positive, but it feels like every team has a unique camera angle which mimics their real life one for tv. At first I though Charlotte and New Orleans had the same angles, or Portland and Dallas were the same, but it seems that there are slight differences between them all. Really want to give props to ea for this, I'm someone who's always looking for that 'broadcast' feel, and i've never seen this attention to detail before in a videogame.

Overall, for 2019, Live's presentation and graphics are superior to 2K's. And in terms of controls/animations, I think Live went from a D+ to a B-. 2k still has them beat in this department, but they only went from a B+ to an A- this year. I truly believe 2020 we will see some fierce competition if the live team keep this momentum up. To me they clearly won the 'looks like i'm watching a real game' award this year. And at $40 it's the clear winner for me which nba game to buy for this season. keep up the good work live team, and once again competition is always best for the consumer.

    Totally agree. Great post.

The camera angles are definitely different in various arenas. It’s a brilliant feature and always the view I play.

Thanks for the kind words! We used the NBA broadcast manual to identify the actual locations for our gameplay cameras.

The camera thing sounds like mlb the show and how you get different pitching camera for different teams. I didn't know the game had that its something very cool because it is another way to make like playing vs different teams different. I agree that the graphics are better than 2k and that is something because 2k graphics are pretty good to. The crowds sound great again something that live seems to be pretty good at. Live really needs to improve franchise mode but the over all improvement from 17-18 based of playing just the demo was incredible and I am not going to get this years game most likely because of franchise mode but seems like 19 is even better based of the demo and what people are saying that have gotten to play the full game.

Didn't know that but nba live was pretty bad before 18. NBA 18 and 19 are so much better.

Just need the ability to customise camera angles now in terms of height and zoom and they have it covered

its time to go for that crown, and you and the team know what needs to be done to take that crown

Yes I agree, now if we can only get DEPTH OF FIELD back into the instant replay so it can clear up the blurriness and zoom in on faces, tats, bodies, jerseys/accessories, shoes, crowd faces/attire, arena rafters & sidelines

I agree with you on the presentation however I wish there was more real time status screen is popping up ESPNesque during a game in real time. Halftime stats are nice, but during the game is nice too. Whether it be comparison matchup’s of both teams or players from different teams I would just like to see more Depth from that stand point

Same. I’d also like more time between the end of quarter/end of game buzzers and the recap/score screen would be nice. It transitions too quickly. Same between the foul calls and the players actually being at the line. Show the players on the court or some arena shots for a few seconds or something.

Pretty sure it was introduced in 16, I'll have to check my Google Fu on that though.

Played exclusively on ESPN camera last year but so far this year I was playing on EA baseline which was my favourite camera from 16.

Just switched back to ESPN camera and I’ll be sticking with it. Not only does it look great but I find it easier to play the game from the angle.
