After the Raptors won a Franchise high 59 Games last year the Playoffs ended the same disappointing way. For the 3rd straight Playoffs the King showed the Raptors the door. This resulted in the firing of newly announced Coach of the Year Dwayne Casey.
When Lebron quietly announced his decision to leave for LA, the East for the first time in a decade seems to be wide open. While the 76ers and Celtics are enjoying some success the Raptors feel now is the time to strike. On July 18th Toronto sent local Hero DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl & a 2019 protected first-round draft pick for Kawhi Leonard & Danny Green. While this certainly caused a stir the Raptors are banking on being able to talk Kawhi into staying for longer than a year. If that is not able to happen look at this as the start of a rebuild.
